No, it is not a lobbying "ban" but more of a pledge. We need to see this "form" they will sign, to see exactly how these weasels will find their way around it. Question them!! Remember Reagan, "trust but verify". So far it is a piece of paper and not any Executive Order.

Oh, they could say, "I'm not a lobbyist. Here, let me help you as a consultant or as an advisor."

Darned good question, huh. First, let me backtrack a little. There is something that has been around decades, actually since Reagan years. It is called "starve the beast". It was thought that govt spending could be controlled over liberal objections by collecting less in taxes; it also could do away with those programs that conservatives didn't like in govt, those things that helped out "minorities", like "welfare", etc. Hence all those appeals to the average (white) guy that govt would help him by ''letting him keep his money'' by "cutting taxes".

But go further to the fringe right, to those who want to break federal govt entirely. Koch ideology wants to, in the words of Grover Norquist, make govt small enough to drown it in the bathtub. So, keep cutting taxes!!

How does one pay for what's left after govt is stripped bare? No IRS to collect taxes. No joke, here it is....

A lottery... yes.... hahahaha
Consumption tax....hitting the 99% harder
Voluntary... yeah right! Such bleeding spleen idealists!!
User fees.... taxes on the 99%
Insurance groups.... pay to play
Sell land.... hell, yeah, sell the land to the Bundy family... or more likely to "resource extraction industries"

GW Bush was the ultimate in cutting taxes... he wasn't like the further-to-the-right who became an opposition party to Obama.... but he started trillion dollar wars, put them on credit cards, and cut taxes.... to his credit, he was stupid enough, not ideological, to believe that war stimulated an economy, so he told Pres Kirchener of Argentina..... he really did.... what the hell will Trump tell foreign leaders, in OUR name, when he talks with them!!!

The problem is .... Ford was NEVER moving the Kentucky plant to Mexico! Trumpapple had NOTHING to do with it!

lol Trump's delusions are obvious with this tweet. It reminds me of decades ago, when a neighbor psychologist told me about one of his clients. He said that the client told him that he could make clouds move. When he was told, "No, you cannot make clouds move," the man said, "Yes, I can. Look." Ok, I want to post the other part of the Koch ideology that has taken over the Republican Party. I referred already to the Koch economic ideology, but the other part is their conspiratorial ideology. I am very familiar with people who subscribe to this ideology, as I have had friends decades ago and currently have family members who hold meetings in their homes.

The Koch Bros father helped fund the beginnings of the John Birch Society in the 1950s. For those unfamiliar with this fringe right wing ideology, the JBS advocates against Socialism and is for limited govvernment. Their once fringe conspiracies (thought to have died out years ago) are now mainstream, as evidenced by the multitude of postings at this website.

Alex Jones is big time into spreading the JBS propaganda (infowars, prisonplanet). One of the most influential books from his teenage years was None Dare Call It Conspiracy, a book by John Birch PR representative Gary Allen, that Jones still cites as "the quintessential primer to understand the New World Order."

The "everyone else" is a "Horror Show".

I almost joined the John Birch Society when I was younger.

I was very Christian Right when I was younger.

I know how they think. It's all about control.

But, I've always had a natural independent streak. I've always followed my own path. Even those I had to wake up from and move on.

I think that people viewed Donald Trump as someone who was naturally beyond anyone's control, that he was his own self-made man. He exuded hyper-masculinity at his rallies, fooling others into thinking he was the leader they were looking for.

As it is turning out, once it is seen that the Emperor has no clothes, it appears that Trump himself does not have that "natural independent streak" that you have. He wants, he needs, to appear beyond other's control, because he himself is vulnerable to other's control.

YES!

I have a brother that is very much like that. (a Trump supporter, of course).

We were always like "oil & water" - - he didn't know what to do with me. I was not affected by his charisma. I did not fall under his Spell.

It sucked being his sister (being treated 2nd class), watching everyone fawn over him - - when I could see him for who he was.

We haven't spoken in years, but we're connected online. Today, I see his insecurities more then ever. He needs to be loved and validated. It must have really bothered him that he never got that from me.

Too bad the president is not dictator. Congress will make sure Trump doesn't get anything meaningful done. MAGA will most likely turn out to be just another pipe dream.

Since we're going to run the country like a business, I have decided that, after this post election trial period, Trump is a defective product. It continues to exhibit extremely poor judgment and temperament for the office. I would like to return this product, but, because I cannot, I am stuck with it.

I will set it in the corner. No matter how hard I stare at it, it will never overcome its defects and perform as advertised. Now instead I will just have to help mitigate its ill effects.

..... at least with a robot vacuum that smears indoor dog feces around the house while you're at work, I can turn it off and run it only at certain times. The Trump product is designed to run 24/7, with no off switch, so be prepared for the feces to smear and pile up.
