He has a part-time job as assistant GM of a great hotel. The kid could do quite well for himself but for now. . . he's doing it to support his "art".

If you don't mind me asking, could you share the hotel? If he's been doing it for a while, I might have worked with him. Or at least known him from working in downtown pdx.

Oh good for him. My wife and I take trips to the Oregon coast yearly. Such s different feel than the CA coast. More "rustic". Love me some Astoria. So I take it you're in Portland?

As I stated earlier in thread. I dated one of those. The debates we had. Man. Funny thing is, she was using stuff like trigger warnings and safe spaces years before they became a hit button item.
And some of the things she argued, it's like her women's study classes taught her how to be a better victim and how to "debunk" patriarchal arguments.
The things I put up with for 9 years. I gave up watching football and UFC. I had to hang out with her feminist friends who were all also MSW's.
I love my wife now. We own guns. Watch UFC together. Listen to Louder with Crowder and Drinkin Bros together.

Thank goodness I took care of my Portland business last week.

Riots suck. I got caught in the G8 riots in Seattle a few years back...not a pleasant experience. At all.

My family and I wanted to settle in a state here we didn't see the sun until May.

I'm across the river. It's raining hard right now and it's supposed to rain all weekend. I have hope that Portland will settle down.

I'm actually from Colorado, and was transferred out here in '08......going from 300+ days of sunshine to grey skies and rain was a HUGE adjustment, but the state has grown on me

2:03 a.m.: Police released a statement confirming the man was injured during the protest march but suffered injuries that weren't life-threatening. The victim, whom police did not identify, was taken to a hospital. The release said a confrontation occurred between occupants of a gray or silver sedan on the bridge and a protester. The suspect got out of the vehicle and fired multiple times, injuring the victim. The suspect fled.

That's good at least.

News is saying it was a black teen who fired the shots then fled the scene.
