I'm 70. I've seen politics work "in the old days". Jerry Brown, Gov of CA, says when he first got into politics - - you'd ask your opponent to meet for drinks - - sit down at a table for a few hours - - hash it out - - come to a compromise - - and get things done. He says after the Neo-Cons - - - it was "Their way or the highway" - - they weren't even willing to talk. Basically, slam the door in your face.

I began political interest in high school as a Republican Christian War Hawk. Actually, continued in that mindset with first husband for about 10 years until we split. Then during the quest to "find myself" went through many incarnations.

So, I do understand a perspective of many sides.

Lack of control creates fear. The Trump demographic is fear based in that they are becoming a dying breed (so to speak).

They're kicking and screaming trying to hold on. But, nothing stops evolution. This is nothing but a Hiccup.

They are prime to fall for the kind of rhetoric Trump spews.

We addressed your message with our vote. I reject identity politics and other racist anti-American behavior. Leftist progressive politics have failed, as it is an inherently violent message that has to be enforced at the barrel of a gun.

Today's political climate worldwide, (Trump,Brexit,Anti Angela Merkel, Etc.) is a direct response to the social justice warriors on the left. We reject the authoritarian control over our minds, freedoms, and pocketbooks.

The problem with the left, is they do not want to discuss things. They have no argument, so they rush to calling names (racist, sexist) and now that this tactic no longer works, it goes straight to violence.

What a lazy interpretation of history. The consistent through-line of Nazi politics was composed of racism, nationalism, and populism. Early on, though anti-Communist, they were also opposed to Capitalism, spoke out against the bourgeois, and opposed "big business". As they gained power, they walked back many of these themes in order to win and hold the support of industrial powers who were needed to advance their agenda. What did not change was the racist, nationalist, populist angle. So the disposable part was an appeal to then-popular socialist ideas in hopes of taking power away from the Communists by appealing to some of their sensibilities. They are regarded by every credible historian and political scientist that I am aware of a manifestation of far right-wing politics for obvious reasons.

You are either terrifyingly ignorant of whence you speak or you are a lying propagandist. I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt on this one and say you're ignorant. Please educate yourself. 11 million people died because of a far-right nationalist movement and it's important to understand that.
