Anything by CCR.

I am hoping that link brings you to the CCR playlist.

Patience by GunsNRoses

Actually, all the acoustic stuff from GNR Lies.
Used To Love Her But Had To Kill Her is very simple...just 3 chords.

I like strumming about this old Icelandic tune...

The chord progression is pretty straight forward: Bm, G, D, A5 and there is a couple tempo changes to keep you on your toes. Plus I like singing along with the, "Hey!" part! About the hardest part is figuring out they are tuned down a half-step.

Of Monsters and Men - Little Talks

I like playing anything Noel Gallagher has written. Whether Oasis or HFB's stuff. It's usually straight forward and sounds good.

If you haven't listen to Alice in Chains Unplugged, Aerosmith Unplugged, Nirvana Unplugged. Those were very good.
They get the flow going.

Also remember to keep tuned.

I heard its good I have it installed but haven't tried it yet .

Another question..can anyone recommend a song where you use alternate picking? Thats one of the reasons I like playing Californication...

eta: not necesarrily alt picking..just a song where you pick single notes ..

Hello fellow player!

As for acoustic jams my first though for you was "change" by Blind Melon... One of the first acoustic songs I learned (after wonderwall, of course) pretty easy to play and sing too and a great song to boot.

As far as picking .. check out a song called "ashamed" by deer tick. Rally great, simple finger picked song.. maybe a little fast but you'll get it.

Also, an Ealry one for me was "the light and the glass" by Coheed and Cambria... starts slow and picked and by the end it's a huge rocker.. awesome with a full band and awesome just acoustic as well. Lots of parts..big build.. think a simpler stairway to heaven.

Myself, I'm working on an acoustic version of David Bowies "Fill your heart" ... great piano tune just waiting to be a good guitar song.

Good luck and most importantly have fun!

It is hard to respond to that without knowing how proficient you are. Are you looking for easy things to play or are you looking to challenge yourself.

For the sake of throwing something out there, allow me to suggest to you this.

Tune your guitar to DADGAD....... and learn The Rain Song. There is only a couple tricky fingerings to learn and it is a pretty song that is just downright fun to play

I always thought of Cohen as the Canadian version of Dylan...

I like his daughter's music a lot...

I am unaware of a daughter of his that does music. His son Adam does. Are you thinking of Anjani Thomas?
