EU goes to WAR on Trump as it threatens to BLACKLIST AMERICA in tax clampdown

DONALD Trump's protectionism has already stirred a hornet's nest in Europe with bureaucrats threatening an unprecedented clampdown on the new US president before he's even entered the Oval office.

And the European Commission's tax chief has got the president-elect in his crosshairs after a meeting on Tuesday which began identifying countries which the EU intends to place on a tax blacklist.

In an astonishing interview European Commissioner for Economic and Financial Affairs, Taxation and Customs Pierre Moscovici refused to rule out putting the USA on its blacklist.

Any bets on whether this will happen?

The EU is a freaking mess.

Born in Paris, he is the son of the influential Romanian-Jewish social psychologist Serge Moscovici and of the Polish-Jewish psychoanalyst Marie Bromberg-Moscovici.[1]

They hate losing power.

Americans need to learn that while they have the right to vote, their vote carries consequences.

I fully expect Trump "people" to begin hating on Europe, just as Putin and Russia wants.

All of this plays well into a weakened Russian state, one which has the growing juggernaut of China on its doorstep. Russia needs the US and the EU fighting one another. Electing Trump was a brilliant way to achieve this on Russia's part.

Well done America, you just did Putin's work for him.

*slow clap*

If the EU refuse to cooperate with both USA and Russia, it's only a good thing for the ordinary people all around Europe. It just means they will speed up their own destruction.

They are scared because the anti-globalism movement is getting stronger and stronger. Next stop is Marine le Pen in France next year.

Good way of looking at it. Nothing new under the sun. Globalization is them wanting to weild control of as many as possible. Looks like they might've but off more than they can chew.

You are looking at this all wrong. Russia isn't Europe's enemy, nor is it America's enemy. What it seems that you are proposing is that it would be better to destroy Russia economically because...because why?

Your idea of how the world works is so last century. We need a world of cooperation now, not enforced cooperation for the benefit of the multinationals, but actual political and economic cooperation with the actual countries as beneficiaries.

Get your head down, your world may be coming to an end.

Whatever happens the EU is playing with fire with these comments as according to its own figures it exports far outweigh imports with the US.

According to the EC website the EU exported £321 billion to the USA in 2015 while the USA exports £215 billion in return.

Meanwhile US investment in the EU is three times higher than in all of Asia.

"I'm going to just go home and not play with you!" said the little boy nobody was playing with nor particularly gave a crap about.

LMAO

Please, EU, do it. Put the US on this *ahem* "list" and do a massive amount of harm to your own already collapsing economy while effectively not impacting the US much at all.
Do it!

The EU is all my arse but there are those in the EU plutocracy that wish to sour relation's between Europe and the US in order to undermine NATO and push there agenda of a unified european defence force and more integrated EU.

So anything is possible at this time, still as a brit I want to see a strong america with a strong leader and not the weak leadership of Obama's years that has seen the US go down in international esteem and respect almost as much as the Bush year's tarnished america's reputation because of there corruption and oil interests along with the foreign policys that these vested interests in the bush family pushed onto the state's, at least Trump is not going to go for regime change in foreign nation's to puch is hotel business like Bush did in order to obtain oil access and knock off international competitor's for his own petrochemical interest's, at least I think not but then again?.

To be fair it was not Obama whom ruined the State's international reputation but Bush and his cronies that left a lasting legacy of bitterness which has only grown since for taking the states and its allies into some pretty unpopular wars, Bush Jnr that is, for all his flaw's Bush Snr was not half as bad as his son.

Trumps victory will likely encourage anti-EU people throughout the EU (for example in the Netherlands, France, Italy and Germany), so I guess the kleptocrats in Brussel are about to wet their pants. Basically they are lashing out premetively. I don't think that much will come from it though.

Hey don't blaim us brit's we voted out and yes our former prime minister (Who I did not vote for) got rid of all our naval air craft, downsized our armed forces WHILE we had soldiers commited to hostile theater's abroad and demoralized our already beleaguered armed forces.

True about the french though but don't forget the maquis whom fought for there country in a constant guerilla war against the nazi's and the viche french, the Italian's have taken a lot of stick but in truth most of them were illiterate farm boy's whom did not really want to fight for mussolini or hitler and were already low in there moral when they surrendered in drove's and the German's are the only one's with something to lose, the EU after all is really just the fourth reich in all but name.

Globalism has been happening since civilization was formed. It cannot be stopped.

Change is the only constant in life, and Russia would do well to drop the paranoia about the rest of the world and start playing with others. Their GDP and population need it. Putin faces real challenges of uprisings within his country if he can't improve the quality of life for his people.

Russia's internal problems are more severe than what is widely reported on. Russia is what nationalistic isolationism looks like. Destabilizing the West and causing divides between American and Europe is currently the modus operandi for Putin.

Create a power vacuum that he himself can push his country into. It's actually quite brilliant, and sad that Americans can't see it.

National Intelligence Council predictions have foreseen this, so none of this should be of any surprise to anyone studying geopolitics. What is curious is that our own government (despite funding long term projection studies) seem to be ignoring their own thinktanks.

If Americans want nationalism and isolationism, why is Russia suddenly one of the few allowed in? When did this 180 degree reversal happen, and how?

Now THAT'S a question worth asking.

While I agree with the premise of telling the EU to STFU regarding the recent choice of the American people, I don't think your jingoistic rhetoric is helpful in any way.

You really should just wait a bit to see true international reactions before you get all hyped on the "we can do anything, and probably will" train.

Just a thought, we are all in this together. Bridges burnt are hard to rebuild.
