It's amazing how easily appliable such an open and generic indictment is. Could swear I heard something like this word for word prior to the election as well, couldn't really be sure who they were referring to either.

True. The left never showed any hesitation whatsoever to heap a mountain of abuse on conservatives these last eight years or to try to cram their agenda down our throats against our morals and beliefs. Now that the shoe is on the other foot, they're suddenly interested in compassion and understanding? Somehow, I think that's unlikely.

And you know what, part of me has to sit back and laugh, because over these last eight years, I've repeatedly tried to warn liberals here and elsewhere that the day would come, probably sooner than they thought, when Republicans came back to power and all their cheap tactics and nasty, hateful rhetoric against conservatives were going to be revisited upon them. They didn't listen and they've got no one to blame but themselves.

You're not entirely wrong, but its going to fall on deaf ears. No one complaining now gave one flying rats backside about it over these last eight years until now. The damage is already done. You can't call people racists, bigots, xenophobic, deplorable, irredeemable, etc, just because they had the audacity to differ with you politically and expect them to forgive you.

A lot of us have been begging people to stop for a long time; we get tired of it falling on deaf ears and it comes and goes in waves just like the hate and the name-calling tends to do.

It's not about expecting people to be forgiving, it's about people rising about their vengeful, reptilian mindsets and being better than the other.

Raise the bar, rather than lower it.
