Something ive always wondered in ATS before I became a member. I have been a loong time visitor to ATS, before this forum, just when it was all about Area51 and the secret aircraft. Believe it or not I still have ALL of the aircraft info printed out from the good ol' days.
But what do the Moderators and SuperModerators get to do that us members dont ? Cough it up mods (lol)

Less time. We also have lives. Personally I work 7 days a week at 2 jobs and still have time for the board. Wish I had more for myself sometimes. Thanks for asking.
Maybe this will put things in perspective.

My guess would be extra work and a lot of headaches from listening to us all day!

Other than that, power, which is why we must always stay vigilant and keep an eye on them.

Power, responsibility, and basically responsibility. I have been on here for years, not always under JTL, but been here. Remember first name on here, setisearcher, then another, and a couple more, got banned, they came out with new board and all banned weren't banned so I came back on as JTL. Since I have behaved I guess they allowed me to stay. They know who I am since a freind of mine is a super mod and told them, but like I said, I have behaved for the most part(couple warnings over a misunderstanding, turns out more then one person read the same book and posted the same info, my bad for not looking to see if someone else had already posted it) and like ATS. I wouldn't want to be a mod, except for that Ferrari.....(could I get a Lambergini instead?)

What do the MODs get that members dont:

ulcers
carpel tunnel
migraines
irritable bowel syndrome
a lot of u2u's that usually start "WTF! is going on here!..."
water retention
shortened life spans
hardening of the arteries
chaffing of the arse
rawing of the nerves
and persistent thoughts that masturbating with sandpaper might actually be less painful than putting up with us.

Don't you feel shafted?

Ooooh.

Abusive U2Us, snide comments, accusations of being an alien/CIA/gov't employee/etc, and the occasional "thanks."

We do this for free.

We get to explain to our spouses why we spend so much time on a conspiracy site.

We have to read the U.S. vs. China thread every day even though we're sure it would be a stalemate war.

Get and give Purpose

Hmmm, what do we get?

Let me say first, that IMHO, the best part of all this being a mod is getting to really know the people behind those avatars and board names. Really great bunch of people I have been blessed to 'work' and communicate with.

Another is the ability to do what we must objectively in trying to maintain and run this board properly, but at the same time, when posting to topics, still being able to give our own personal subjective opinions, like any other member of this community.

As to what we get, hmmm, don't know if I can really say without getting my butt chewed and kicked, but let me say that I have yet to see that dern Ferrari!

Helping to run and maintain some sense of civility is like real life, you have good days and bad days. Its all good though, IMHO. ATS is a great board, with some relatively great conversations and topics, but there are days that I simply scratch my head and wonder. Again, like in real life. All-in-all, great members within ATS, and I have come to respect many upon many, despite our differences and encounters. Hopefully, we all learn a little of something that we can take with us into our real lives when we log off.

Its not about what we as mods get, but what we do that helps keeps the ATS community running and growing. Likewise, members contribute greatly to the success of ATS and its continued growth, be they mods or not.

What the mods get that the members don't is grief. and all that stuff than Valhall and Banshee mentioned.

Sorry, that perk is NOT restricted to mods. I know this to be a fact.
