This was the first song I heard by him that was played in the movie Pump Up the Volume. At the time I did not know who was singing but I really liked it and still do. It's such a great song.

Ugh. So sad.

I wonder if his heart broke after all of this, or was he ill for a long time?

Hallelujah, we are broken and still we sing.

RIP Leonard. Can't say I was a fan per se but his songs were catchy and he surely had talent and influence.

2016: the year of loss. Can't wait till it's done.

My introduction to Leonard Choen was this song (at least that I can remember)...

So sad that his accountants stole his money and he had to do a tour after he retired. I hope they all rot in hell!

One of the best artists/song writers ever!

This cover was on the Shrek movie and is awesome! Jeff Buckley's version...

There was a special time in my life I embraced his songs that took me to a place I could not share.
Thank you L.Cohen.

You're an idiot TEOT! 'Twa Rufus Wainwright that did the Shrek version. Still love the Jeff Buckley version...

Nice obit on BBC, where I noticed my gaff.

Now you loved me as a loser
Now you're worried that I just might win
You know the way to stop me...
... but you don't have the discipline
How many nights I've prayed for this? To let my work begin
First we take Manhattan... then we take Berlin

BTW if you want to see Leonard at his peak try to find a copy of "Live At The Isle of Wight 1970" DVD. He went on at like 4 in the morning in his pajamas.

Just found a link to the entire show on vimeo

vimeo.com...
