It's a perfect system, just like the other thread about the US intel agencies having too many to keep track but is great for plausibly deniability.
Having a 4 to 8 year president elected by mainly the states by electoral college but giving us the " illusion " of voting is a great way to pin that
era's issues on that guy and not the overall government.
It's been the main reason the people don't get much done when protesting is made, because the system is so separated from the public that the
politicians only have to worry on a local level and as they move to state and then to federal voting system is done in such a way that a serious
movement wouldn't do much.
People think Trump being elected was this huge movement and really it was just the changing of the guard from democrat to republican, because enough
seats were expected to be up at this time. This info is known so far ahead it's really amazing.
We're either close to the end of Democracy working or we've recently entered into a republic like dictatorship and haven't been duly informed.
