Hillary Clinton was urged at the beginning not to run for President by her best friend and legal counsel, Cheryl Mills. Cheryl Mills thought that it was a mistake for her to run, due to the political baggage that she carried, chiefly the email issues.

But Hillary did run anyway and she had the DNC make certain that Bernie Sanders did not have a chance. She received answers to debates against Bernie Sanders from Donna Brazile. She cheated her way to the nomination against a rival that was polling much better than Trump was.

She ran against Trump, an absolutely horrible candidate.... and lost.

She failed a lot of people.

If you are angry that Trump did not lose to Hillary, maybe the place to have a demonstration is at the headquarters of the Democratic Party. They are the ones that allowed an extremely flawed candidate to railroad herself into the nomination.

Take back control of your party. Take control away from the people that allowed this to happen.

This x1000. Why can't more people who are registered democrat see this and realize this. It was their own party that failed them. Protest your own damn party, and stop trying to incite another civil war. I promise you, if you take on the republican and conservative base in a war, you will lose and lose badly.

I don't have to like him, but he is now my President (or at least president-elect), and deserves the respect that the Office of the Presidency (not the person, but the Office) commands.

Most Presidents are disliked by half of the people in this country; half of the country disliked President Obama, half of the country disliked President GW Bush, half of the country disliked President Clinton, and half of the country disliked President GHW Bush...and now I suspect half of the country will dislike Trump.

...But he will still be the rightfully (legally)-elected President, even to the people who dislike him. A president is president to the entire country, not just to the people who agree with everything the president does. That's why the Office of the Presidency deserves respect, even if we disagree with the views of the person holding that office.

That's the way this country works. We are not a third-world nation who overturn rightfully-elected leaders, or ignores the legitimacy of a President just because he don't like him.. Our country works because even though we may not like a President, we still recognize the fact that he really is the President for the entire country.


Having said that, I suspect many other citizens of this country would have similarly protested if Hillary Clinton had won, so the fact that people are protesting Trump is not necessarily an indictment of Trump's Presidency. If people believe protesting the President-elect is the right thing to do if they don't like that President-elect, then they should have had no problem with other people taking to the streets in vigils and protests against Hillary Clinton if she had won.

I would agree if they were protesting. But they aren't protesting, they are rioting and beating innocent people.

Considering the video shows him stopped in the middle of the intersection with his door open, I suspect it was a traffic dispute or car-jacking where the assailants looked to justify their criminal behavior. They deserve to be arrested and prosecuted pronto.

OK so usually I'm a lurker. You should probably also know I voted Trump because I thought he was the lesser of 2 evils. With this riot video and the others played out all over the news and celebrities marching and people talking crazy things..I have to wonder if the government will now have a good reason to call for Marshall Law. I haven't seen it mentioned yet but it seems to me something like that could happen.

This was the Dumb and Dumber election cycle...We disagree about who was dumber.
Watched the CNN coverage of protestors in 12 cities the past few nights...common theme? Anti-Trump and Anti-Democratic Party. They blame Democrats equally for the failure.

I believe them correct on both counts. The Democratic party failed the working middle class...who voted for Trump out of desperation not approval, allegiance or love.

This failure of the Democratic party to help the blue-collar working middle class was hidden by the historic precedence of an African American being elected President. It was a victory for equality, but obfuscated a growing middle class struggle. Economic struggle is color blind.

My issue is this..the protest vote has succeeded, but nothing Trump has proposed will help those people and much of what he proposed will make it worse...and that needs to be solved.

The blue collar, working middle class sweats, bleeds and gives all they have to ..

Earn a living that puts food on the table for their family..
Wants to see a doctor and proudly pay the bill when they and their kids get sick..
Pay the rent and bills..

They work their ass off and are not asking for a whole lot.

In places like Michigan and Wisconsin and Pennsylvania those days are retreating in the rear-view mirror. Jobs gone, pensions slashed and a government that has forgotten them.

That's the reality.

My heart is with those people who took the wild gamble that a con-man could give it back to them. My degree is in economics and looking at Trumps proposals, they all look worse not better for the working middle class. Frankly his first 100 days looks like a looting expedition for the wealthy privileged...like myself.

Blaming brown people is not a solution.

So what's next?

Perhaps these incredibly "violent" protesters are paid actors...
