Regardless at this moment in history I'd still have opted for Trump over Sanders. Sanders who preeched socialism and yet pandered exclusively to the black minority, justified Israels "right to defend itself" and eventually got bribed by Hillary to drop out..yeah such a man of principal was Bernie. He would have be a complete joke trying to turn America into a socialist paradise. You would be better off electing Fidel Castro, in fact Cuba may well have flourished if it wasn't for all the US sanctions..they certainly produced the best doctors in the world.

I miss the old days when people would keep their political and religious beliefs to themselves,it was considered personal.

I don`t care what Hollywood people think just because they have a lot of money doesn`t make them experts on politics, religion,economics or anything else.
If their biggest complaint in life is that the president used some curse words then they should instead be thanking god for the problem free lifestyle they are living.

I'm not really active on ATS under this screen name these days..I'd been here years ago under different monikers when there were no trolls..so I'm surprised the thread got hijacked so quickly and needlessly.
It looks like this is a case of someone stalking particular political threads and turning them into flame wars in order to subvert the thread and kill it.

Now back to the topic at hand. Culture is either a grass roots phenomena or it's directed from a top down cultural elite. Obviously the entertainment industry is not a grass roots phenomena so it's influence on society has an agenda or numerous agendas which suit the elite. There is no argument that part of that agenda is the dumbing down of society.

This is why the people who work on behalf of the elite and push various anti social themes and popularise self destructive thinking and behaviours bear a huge responsibility for the society they have been brainwashing for years

It's these "entertainers" that push garbage (sure some of it is entertaining, but it's akin to tasty but unhealthy fast food). The same people who encourage stupidity and ignorance and let's be frank there is no art form more ignorant than gangsta rap..now rail against trump voters, many of whomb have been brought up on the JayZ mantra of bitches, money, power. It's only natural that Trump would be the obvious choice for any fan of that music.

So now we have a schism between fans of family guy and gangsta rap and the people who produce the programming. This is the hypocrisy I'm talking about. It's like Dr Frankenstein dissing his own monster (which I think he did, can't remember, though there was talk of pitchforks and torches this election too).

We had 8 years of a black messianic figure and he not only failed to produce but instead followed the trajectory set by the psychopathic Bush administration. Making Obama as "white" as anyother president..in fact whiter and more male, as those are the modern bywords for evil and corrupt apparently...which would make Hillary an albino transsexual.

Unless the people who contribute to the culture, contribute something of worth then they have no right complaining about a swimming pool they have deficated in repeatedly.
