This is where you expect me to come on ATS and gloat over the fact that Trump won the election.

I would expect no less from the Hillary supporters if the situation were to be reversed.

But I am a better person than that.

I would like to say to the people whose candidate was not victorious, that I feel your pain.

Everybody lost something in this election process, mostly their respect and trust for the media and any trust they had left in the government.

There really were no winners last night, and now the future remains to be seen.

Actually, Hillary won the election.

Well, she lost the election but she got more votes.

Thats some system we've got.

Yes sir....

She did... she got 170,000 more out of 60,000,000. Most people would call that a virtual tie given the amount of votes cast.

Nah. If Hillary had won, I'd be a dick.

I'd have been pissed off. I was even anticipating a Hillary win.

The posters that have come on today and flung insults? I respect them. They're the honest ones. They're pissed off.

I get that. I understand that.

We're already seeing "unification" and "compromise" and hand-holding bull.

Screw that.

Get rid of Obamacare.
Lower taxes.
Make government smaller.
Provide incentives for businesses to come back to the US.
Get companies hiring people instead of folks fighting over a 10/hr job at McDonalds.

We've had 8 years of a patronizing arrogant elitist class ruling over us like we're a basket of deplorables.

#### that.

Time to roll up sleeves, get back to work.

No nice guy from me, OP.

Apologies.

I stated yesterday that I fully expected Clinton to win.

Last night was a shock to me.

Never been so glad to be wrong in my life.

Good words and fine sentiment. You have a great deal to be optimistic about today and as a Veteran you deserve that. Best wishes to you from a brother across the pond

I hope my fear does not turn into reality more than it already has, and further, that my life does not sink into unimaginable darkness.

If it does folks will hear of it, if the winning party does right by those of us whose families rely on the ACA then I will express my gratitude.

The uncertainty, the life and death nature of it, has left me broken; something died last night. What comes out of the ashes remains to be seen.

Pray for my family, please.

If you believe for a minute that Donald Trump is going to accomplish one of that... you're sadly mistaken.

Donald Trump is going to make the government smaller?

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH. You say "small government," but I don't think you know what it means.

You're guessing he'll screw things up worse.

I get that, you are on the opposing side.

I think you're wrong though.

One of the key things Trump said is that he'd install a transitionary phase that would cover people like your son.

I am with you Rick. I just want to see the country do well.

Let me give some hope to Hillary supporters (maybe).

Despite Trump winning the electoral map easily, I think he needs to keep in mind most people still don't like him. I don't just mean the popular vote, I mean that most people that voted for either Hillary or Trump were holding their nose while doing so.

So I hope Trump reaches out to the people from all sides that don't like him. Does that mean he should have drastic changes to his policies, absolutely not!

But he needs to be humble, and approach these policies in way that is explained to help all Americans.

You don't know what I think, no offense. I have plenty of family and extended family who voted Trump, as well as Clinton. I know they all love me, and would not want any harm to come to our family, and that those who voted Trump can't imagine that anything bad will happen to anyone. I don't hate them or you or anyone else. I'm just scared.

One day, you know how you are going to handle the life and death situation, and the next that certainly is ripped away and vague promises and contradictory rhetoric leave you feeling quicksand beneath your feet where once was solid ground. I don't trust Trump. He lies like he breathes.

But I hope you are right, and that they govern wisely. The brilliant Ryan plan is "high risk pools" which have already been tried and have failed miserably. So there's that.

No we don't and I don't make claims based on things I simply don't know. (Such as the claims you've made)

I'm not on an "opposing side," and I'm sorry you see it that way.

I also never said Trump is going to make anything worse. You're speaking with absolute polarization.

I hope I'm wrong but I'm not convinced.

But please - enough with "small government," doublespeak bull#.

Small government? Hahahah we haven't had a "small government," in decades and never will.

I venture to ask - how many folks operate within the private sector?

Pretty small, eh?

No, she lost the election, because the Constitution specifically states that the Electoral College is the group of people who vote for the president, not the popular vote.

Just because the vast majority of Americans ignore that reality doesn't mean that Hillary won the election.

And for what it's worth, I'm really glad that she lost, but I also really with that we'd abolish the Electoral College.
