I'm here. I said congratulations. I don't why we are still talking about democrats and Hillary. We are in the wilderness. So, maybe you should look to the future and what you guys are going to do with all that power.

I know...you've been here for a long time. I think the issue is just what you posted though...you said "you guys" as if what happens isn't affecting all of us. It's always pertinent to discuss the parties as we definitely need a change in our current process. I am hoping those that stick around will do just that. I think the ones that leave were only here for stirring the pot.

I hate to break it to you, but ATS isn't (or I'm fairly sure wasn't designed to be) a pro Donald Trump campaigning web site. If people support a different party to you and supported and voted for a different president, then whether they contribute to ATS is neither here nor there. The extremely divisive nature of some posts (see the one directly below your OP, even though like me that person isn't even eligible to vote in a US election) show how some people have tried hard to make it so.

But, taking your logic, does that mean those that threw every bit of mud at the concept of Clinton being president should now consider their work done and leave? I hope not, maybe now things will return to a more civilised level and more interesting topics will be discussed with the added benefit of actual facts not rumour, inuendo and outright lies being paraded as truth.

Would be nice to think so, what are the chances?

? you can only hope, but highly doubtful. Trump cannot make a sinister person be a good, kind, honest person.

Your thread got me curious about 1 member in particular so I went and checked.

This person has an average of 30 posts a day since joining in early 2016.

Her last post was around 10pm est. last night. Seems silly I know.

Waiting to see if she shows up..........

I totally looked that one up, too.

Saw she poked her nose in this morning but said nothing.

I'm not going anywhere.

It's in your court now. I hope it turns out to be everything you hoped for.

Isn't the bottom line what's good for the country?

You see, a big part of what is wrong - and a big part of why what happened on election day happened - is this attitude that there is a "you" and a "them", instead of an "us".

Hillary, if not for the rigged Super-Delegate system might have lost the Democratic Primaries to a socialist Independent Senator masquerading as a Democrat, just to win a major party nomination.

Instead she ended up losing to a politically ambivalent billionaire businessman, who used to be a Democrat, but became a Republican...just to win a major party nomination.

Both Trump and Sanders, as dubious as their candidacies both were, received millions of votes because they represented the people's aspirations, and their demand for real change - and because they were seen as not a part of the political insider establishment.

Trump was ultimately elected because he was seen as the most credible real change agent...and people want their jobs back, they want safety and security, they want good education and opportunity, they want to believe in their Country again.

So, no, it is not in "our court"...it is in the people's court - and that can and should include you.

That's exactly the bottom line. The fact that a political election has spewed such vitriol and caused people to act in such a negative way from both sides says a lot about how things have changed in the last 8 years with Obama. I truly believe things began being more divided under his administration.

I also don't believe it is in my court....it's in our court. And I don't believe any of the choices were good for the country. I can only hope one day we get someone like the Dalai Lama to run the US....I am just as tired as everyone else of these power hungry politicians working policies and laws simply to pad their own pockets while not having a care in the world and being able to sit in their high chairs for 40 years on the Hill...

None of them are truly for the People and we will all always suffer for the greed of those that work with them to get them in the positions they are.

Not sure how I'd feel about an 80 year old at POTUS. Not sure why we can't get someone young who isn't attached at the hip to house/senate members and large companies and other nations to run this country.

Obviously it's beyond Trumpsters capability of understanding. Anti-Trump isn't, wasn't and won't be pro-Hillary.

I've been here since 2008. I voted for Hillary

I know people will try to distance themselves, make excuses, walk away - hide

I don't see any reason why I should leave - do you?

:-)

Though I have to confess - I am burnt out on all this. I might take a break. But, ATS has been a friendly community that I've belonged to for years - I won't be gone for long

I wish I could say I welcome our new overlord - but I can't

However - I do wish us all a smooth and peaceful transition

Congrats to the victors - the world is watching. Don't let us down

As I'm uneducated, I'm not sure what the big words mean, but I saw the "thumbs up" thingy, so I'm assuming that it's good.

Yeah I've hated Donald Trump as a person since the middle of the 1990's when I was still a child. Then watching him on th Apprentice in the 00's really cemented that opinion. I was always of the opinion that I wanted to vote for Hillary to maintain as well as to vote against Trump then try for a better candidate in 4 years. Oh well.

I logged on today with the thought of congratulating the winners and joining a discussion about how to begin healing the divisiveness and hatred that has pervaded throughout American society and subsequently filtered out to the world at large as a result of this election and the election process.

What I found was arrogance, gloating and a desire to kick the "losers" while they are down. I personally, after congratulating and then imploring one poster to please try and help bring calm was replied to immediately by several posters who literally said no more than words to the effect of "Hahahahaha you lose cry baby suck on it" and other such phrases.

Seriously? It doesn't matter who won, or lost, we are all human beings, we are all in this together and I would like to hope that we haven't lost our sense of civility and good sportsmanship completely. I find the attitudes I just described, and some I have seen even in this thread, to be utterly deplorable and they only serve to create more tension, divisiveness and hatred when the world needs, nay DEMANDS, the exact opposite.

Please. I implore those who wish only to rub everyone else's faces in their loss and create more hatred, please stop for the sake of civility, peace and the future of not only America but of the entire world. It is time to come together now, before it is too late.

Of course it affects all of us. But, I have no voice anymore, or people who think like me. I protested Nam and every war since, I believe a woman's body is hers and her alone, I believe doctors should never turn the sick or disabled away, I believe public education is the only hope for the poor. I and half the population will have no say or place in Trump's world. They have all the power, govs, congress, pres and supreme court. That is what will keep me coming to ATS, to see if they ever get satisfied.
