In a time when people complain that most female pop stars are "too fake", Björk stands out as a genuine unique artist.
I ran across her music video for "Play Dead" today, and it hit me viscerally just as it has every time I've heard it for years. I can't think of a
song where the message and the emotion fuse together and bleed through as perfectly. I think the music video fits the song and really adds a lot as
well.
I will never forget the first time listening to Vespertine as an impressionable aspiring musician. Not only is the production value top notch, but she
had the ability to take the listener into beautifully strange places. I'm going on a little road trip today and now she's going on the playlist.
