20 years ago a movie was released about heroine addiction... And became one of the most disturbing and amusing low budget movies ever

Said movie also pretty much launched the movie carrier of the guy that would eventually become young Obi wan Kenobi

21 years later, we will finally see a sequel...

Looks like its gonna be a good flick... but can it stand up to the original?

We shall see soon

Maybe it's Mendella at it again but I SWEAR they already made a straight to Netflix / DVD sequel of this.. I recall it looking so terrible I didn't bother to watch it.

Either way this looks good. Also probably Matt Lillards best work as well.. aside from Scream.

I saw this on YouTube earlier. As much as it looks like a good film, I think there's so much hype behind it that it won't live up to (most likely impossible) expectations.

The original was awesome though. Can't believe it was 20 years ago lol.

Same here! I loved the first one.
I like seeing similarities between people like you and I that are polar opposites politically! Guess we are all just people.

oh no.... somethings are better left untouched...

-now they have to cater to the youtube generation, the twitter, the new wave sex, the politics, the politically correct, and of course the disney happy endings and finding the meaning of life....

somethings just were not meant to be continued...

this movie may suffer the fate of many like it trying to one up the original and may fail miserably. looks like theyre trying to find a new niche. look at what became of clerks....

ill wait for the bluray

[Producer, Danny] Boyle has declared his wish to make a sequel to Trainspotting which would take place nine years after the original film, based on Irvine Welsh's sequel, Porno. He was reportedly waiting until the original actors themselves aged visibly enough to portray the same characters, ravaged by time; Boyle joked that the natural vanity of actors would make it a long wait. Ewan McGregor stated in an interview that he would return for a sequel, saying "I'm totally up for it. I'd be so chuffed to be back on set with everybody and I think it would be an extraordinary experience."

Wikipedia - Trainspotting (film).

I love Johnny Lee Miller (Sick Boy) from then! Watched the tv show Eli Stone because of him. Same reason I watch Elementary now. So, the original actors are coming back! Awesome! And I might have to go buy Prono now (I have Filth and Trainspotting and another one) and give it a read. The next line says "loosely based on the book" so not sure if it will even help.

"Looks" good from the trailer, I could see some good plot points to exploit with the large time gap between the films.

As usual though, I'm bracing for disappointment.

Awesome they got the whole gang back though, big Johnny fan(Hackers is still his best, IMO).

Ahhh johnny lee miller. I saw him in a pub in Canonbury about 16 years ago and thought I was being really funny in front of my then girlfriend and her friends by going up to him to tell him what a fan I am, but making it seem like I was thinking of someone else. He was very gracious and even laughed.

I did go up to him after and apologised. Well, that's my claim to lame.

Back on topic.great great film and not sure it will work in the world of 2016, but time will tell.

I can't remember the name of it but I think I know exactly what you are talking about. It was sort of similar to the point where I think they were trying to almost trick people into thinking it was part of Trainspotting. Even the "cover art" on Netflix looked like something out of Trainspotting.

Thanks for this. I had no idea this was happening.

I doubt it can stand up to the original just because of how long it's been around and the way nostalgia makes things better than they really were and all but still, this looks like it will be good and fit in right next to the original. Much unlike the horrible thing that was SLC Punk 2.

I remember seeing this and KiDS around the same time. Man, those two movies really stick with you over the years. I'll surely check it out.
