I Dreamt, Not Anymore

I dreamt she died
Lord how I cried
To hear the maiden was
Not anymore.

The tears they ran
Down my fear-ful face
I thought I heard her whisper she loves me
Not anymore.

I jolted out of bed
Bolted to the door
To answer a knock that knocked
No more.

Once I loved a maiden whose skin was fair, and hair was fine
Her lips, bloody red, mine to kiss, her body knew my caress, her heart beating past her breast beat for me no more.
