Yet those who understand the science of optics do not find it strange at all.

Still, this is ATS. The thread wouldn't be complete without at least one post redolent of inappropriate fear and suspicion.

Must be a conspiracy, eh?

The best camera orbiting the Moon - the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter - takes images at about the same resolution as the spy satellites orbiting Earth, that is at around 0.5 m/pixel down to 0.25 m/pixel.

Don't base your view of our capabilities on some videocam that's there for public outreach.

Just to make it clear, HDTV videos from SELENE orbiter have been around for years. But recently, they released images and videos have haven't been made publically available before: www.planetary.org...

These newly-available videos have things like lens flares from the Sun, which is probably why they have been withheld, but which gives them a cool cinematic feeling:

Where are all the moon bases and crystal structures?
...oh wait they must have been edited out.

Those supposed crystal structures were probably photography artifacts.
But all of the unnatural objects previously removed from photos by NASA have been edited out from the above video.

You will notice the flyover last for only a short time until it fades and morphs into the next view.
And the US pre-paid the Japanese elite big bucks to have that done.
Can't be spilling any state secrets now.

Or.......there are no bases and there is nothing to edit out.

You won't find any in the Chinese, Indian or Russian data either.

Why?

Because there's nothing there.

I love statements like that, that have zero supporting evidence. Human mind has an impressive capability of making stuff up.

Great video.. thanks for sharing.
I'd love to see some images of the artifacts left over from the moon missions.

...and it's a good thing that we do! It's the first step to making things a reality

Here you go:

Apollo 11
Apollo 12
Apollo 14
Apollo 15
Apollo 16
Apollo 17

Notice at the bottom of of each link they have the raw strip-image with a zoomable interface. You can use your mouse wheel or click on the +/- to control the zoom. See if you can find the landing sites.

Some people have criticized the orbital images of the Apollo sites as being too grainy. What they don't realize is that the crops they see are from much, much larger images. Zooming in on the sites is like taking a picture of the grandstands at a football stadium and zooming the image to find a specific face in the crowd. You can do it, but the image will be lower resolution than an ordinary close-up.

The resolution in the above LROC images is about the same as this picture:

...which, I think is quite adequate for identifying recognizable objects. In this image is a full-sized Apollo Lunar Module mock-up (one of the test articles, actually). Can you find it?
