The discontinuity in the Andreas fault system around the Salton sea, between hwy 8 and hwy 10 has shown hundreds of recent small squakes. this is the
largest crossing the fault line...6 or 7 in one hour. here is the link to the USGS live site:

This area is interesting because it is the Y junction between the California quake system and the Yellowstone quake line that heads south to that
point. Plus the discontinuity in Andreas is about the size of the Salton Sea. USGS has added smaller faults recently in that area.
