Glad to have found this. The only reason I learned there was a new one was the fact the latest post on the last was so far down MyATS. Maybe I'll be around more this time. Less stress after tomorrow and maybe I'll have some news from the meet up.

Gordi, now, did you give the wee lass a proper celebration on the actual day.

Well..... it depends on what you mean by proper!
The gifts were presented on the night of the party (and the morning after!).

On The Day... I did make her a cup of tea in bed (but she got up... because she hates a wet bed!!!)
Then I emptied the dishwasher for her (but she got mad because it takes her ages to lift all of the cutlery off of the floor!!)
I set the breakfast table and made the boys breakfast (What? I think they suit having oatmeal in their hair!!)
Then when the boys went off to School, I took her out shopping! (Go Outdoors is such a romantic shop at this time of year!! where she picked up a couple of pairs of stretchy walking trousers AND I didn't even mention the STRETCHY bit to her!!)
Later, I cooked a Roast Chicken dinner from scratch (It's quite hard making a chicken out of scratches by the way!) with all the trimmings (including some Scottish stuff that you just don't want to know about!!!) and then we cracked open a bottle of champagne (fizzy vinegar!!! bleuugh!) a bottle of red wine (better) and later on I finished the evening with a nice Single Malt Scotch Whisshky!! LOL

So, I think I did.... OK!
(She seemed happy, and I do genuinely think it was one of the best birthdays EVER when you include the party and all of the fun since! Although... some of the photos may have to be destroyed!!!! ROFL)

So I thought that my face looked rather... alien-ish... so I sought to rectify the situation Not the best job, but I'm under the influence of several Pixified Beverages at the moment, so, it'll do for now!

I just wanted to say "Hello" to the Shed and to those who dwell within, and to those who lurk on the outer edges, and raise my glass

And I was browsing Pinterest earlier, and thought that I'd share these Halloween-y dragons that I found!







Halloween isn't really celebrated in Australia, though the occasion has been on the rise lately; more and more people celebrating it every year. And my son was excited to receive pre-emptive lollies and a mini-celebration at daycare today! It's a pity he doesn't go on Monday, they're having a full Halloween costume day and celebrations then, but alas, his days are Tuesday and Friday.

Actually, I find it strange that it isn't really celebrated in Australia considering the origins of Halloween, or rather - Samhain, and just whom most of this continent's citizens are descended from... I can't help but wonder why the Irish/Scottish/English didn't bring it over with them.

But, it's slowly making it's way here, and will likely soon be a proper celebration just as most elsewhere!

Jaelia turns 4 today!!! I cannot believe the little munchkin is getting so old!!!! We are having her birthday party this evening.

PrairieShepherd's kind of a train wreck this morning. I seem to have caught the cold my children all have.
