Nothing in the RT article says anything about Syria attacking NATO. I assume that was your creative license to somehow make this something its not?

Secondly if Syria attacked a Turkish jet it still would not be covered under article V.

Its called the doom porn creative licence. people like Op secretely want it to happen. Thats why every North Korean missile tested is potentially going to obliterate Seoul, why every thing that happens in the Middle East is a step closer to WW3 etc..

I don't know if your aware of this but Kurdish rebels are supported by the US. Russia wouldn't care if Turkey bombs them and the US does. If they continue there war against thr Kurds expect thr state dept to get involved aND support for turkey disapears.

Except that Asthon Carter was in Ankara today and he declared that Turks need to be included in Mosul operation and USA & Turks are strong allies.
This comes the day after Turks bomb the sh1t out of pseudo Kurdish terrorist organisation of YPG and took out 200 terrorists.

Turkey shot down a Russian jet and it didn't start WWIII so I doubt if Syria and Turkey traded blows that it'd really matter. I have a feeling that most Russians and Americans don't want to go nuclear over a piece of desert.

I think the danger is if Russia shoot down a Turkish jet , as you point out it's 1-0 to Turkey at the moment.
Russia have just sailed their Aircraft carrier and support ships through the English channel on their way to Syria , more air power in crowded skies.

There was a lot of speculation, especially in Turkey, that the 2012 RF-4 shoot down was at least coordinated with Russian forces in Syria. It was never proven if it was though.

You're aware that the Shah of Erdogenesis is actually bombing Muricans?

US military special forces pictured aiding Kurdish fighters in Syria

Sanctions anyone? No?
Well. Who on Ceres cares anyway, right?

It doesn't matter how Turkey interprets it, NATO has strict rules regarding that exact situation. Turkey would be on their own in terms of NATO assistance.

in the remaining time of Obama, the USA response would be to distance itself & any NATO stance on protecting the Turkish aggression on Kurd rebels operating out of N. Syria... that is not a mutual protection aspect of the NATO treaty in any stretch of the imagination

Erdogan has 'Turk' aspirations to be a regional force bigger than the Iran Caliphate-&-Republic.... and thus the removal of dial-up tactical nukes once stored in Turkey...
If the sly Erdogan can draw out the situation until a HRC administration takes office, then the renewed neocon presence in the WH will seek to manipulate the Turk-Syrian airspace disputes into actual combat action
