Pre war I would say bomb shelters, during war smuggling and gun running, post war retire if I survive.

Security,all big companies will worry their product may get stolen or damaged,and it seems the norm ,even convienance stores have guards

A good job would be forest service/nature guide/naturalist/etc

Historically certain ethnicities are used as scapegoats before things get really heated. You can either hide and survive in your local area or help people escape from internment.

During and even after the war you'll have
knowledge of local foods and medicines, even where deer and other game travel.

If food and medical supplies are cut off, or even if electricity or water is knocked out, you know how to get food and medicine from the local environment.

Thats if the land is not poisoned or destroyed. That would be a 1st or second tactic the enemy might use...Along with destroying factories that make weaponry.

Starve the people, and cut the ability to make more weapons or bullets. I believe you are assuming our country would be whole and able to conduct normal business and agriculture.

With nukes, radiological, chemical and bio weaponry...we'd be lucky to survive after it begins. The next one is gonna be nasty...and a massive life ending event...
