The Kremlin is sending the full might of its Northern Fleet and part of the Baltic Fleet to reinforce a final assault on the city of Aleppo in a fortnight, according to Western intelligence.

The final bombardment is designed to shore up the Assad regime by wiping out rebels – paving the way for a Russian exit from the civil war.

It looks like a war that seemed to be unending when the U.S. was in control will be over in relatively no time after Russia took over. What does that say about how serious the U.S. was? I know a lot of us realize that the U.S. wasn't serious, but this is proof.

Aleppo is about to be a huge slaughter. It could happen almost anywhere in the future the way things are going in the world.

Are there any "good guys" left?

Can't win with drones, airstrikes and special forces. Have to have bodies on the ground. Russia will roll in with the bodies and secure it for good. It's over with.

It shows Obama, Kerry and formerly Clinton dont know an ass from an elbow. They fegged Syria, Lybia, Egypt and Tunisia...to name a few, beyond all measure.

Obama should be impeached and Clinton jailed

When people in the Russian government start to compare Aleppo with Grozny you know something horrific is going to occur courtesy of Putin and Assad.

Then all the refuges can go home.

If our government gave two squirts about the people of Syria, they would've helped negotiate the surrender of the rebels a long time ago... not training more of them in Turkey and Jordan, then sending them into Syria armed to the gills (where they often wound up joining ISIS).

While Im hopefull this is true how many times have Govs said the "The war will be over in weeks"

If Im not mistaken the war we started in 2001 that was going to be over in weeks is basically still going.

Well, hopefully Russia's Military is more competent than the Wests

True that the west said that it would be over quickly, but they didn't expect Russia to step in on the last key to controlling the ME, and everyone thinks the bad guy.
Russia seems to be the only one that is serious about ending this. Yeah it might get ugly but nowhere near as ugly as the US and it's buddies have made it.

They should be releasing the emails the first week of Nov. Her comments tonight on Putin was a bad bad idea. She is no match for Putin. He is always 10 steps ahead of Obama and Hillary.

Aleppo in my dream was the flashpoint of major conflict involving Superpowers.

Putin is projecting that he refuses to accept the Cabals rigged leadership from the USA...that he is ready and willing and able to sucessfully engage the USA on any level aywhere including off-planet in space.

I know English and spent 3 years self-teaching Mandarin but have recently switched to Russian.

IMHO...Russia know Nibiru is incoming and they are preparing to fight for their survival to earn high safe ground....the USA is also staging to fight for this same ground along with others...no nukes or very limited Nukes to begin it more likely EMPs......and then a groundbattle....Trump and HC both know about Nibiru...HC wants to fight Russia so the USA can lead a post-Nibiru world and DT wants to fight for HUMANITIES survival as a combined force WITH RUSSIA.

One way or another we need to fasten our seatbelts.

The Russians can try to taunt the US all it wants. But when Mrs. Clinton takes office, she's going to pound Putin into a pulp. She's always at least eleven steps ahead of him.

And Bush and Cheney, and all their people too. All their fixers, all their intelligence hook ups, all the bagmen and hitters, and the crew before them, going back about fifty years or more, just to make sure you get all the people responsible for the War on Terror.

Unless all you are after doing is creating a situation where just a certain few pay for the actions of a great many? They did not come up with the plan, they just followed it through.

The article you quote is very misleading. Firstly the Russians are not sending the full might of the Northern Fleet. That claim is just ridiculous. The article you quote also claims that it is the biggest deployment since the "Cold War". Yet again that is ridiculous. It is the largest deployment to the Eastern Mediterranean since 2014 by about one Baltic Fleet Frigate. Why do these so called defence analysts get it so wrong? The Kuznetsov carrier Task Group with elements from the Baltic fleet have done this all before and on a regular basis in recent years.

The Kuznetsov Task Group has been deployed into the Mediterranean during 1995-1996, 2007-2008, 2008-2009, 2011-2012 and 2013-2014.

The carrier Kuznetsov, cruiser Peter the Great, Destroyers Vice Admiral Kulakov and Severomorsk do not make up the full might of the Northern Fleet. Even with the support tug and tankers the deployment is on par with the other recent deployments.

There is actually no requirement to deploy a carrier task force for operations against Aleppo. Every single requirement can be met with what they currently have deployed in Syria and the region. Elements of the Black Sea and Caspian Sea Fleet already cover the ship launched cruise missile capability for the region. A small group of Su-33s and MiG-29s is not going to make much difference in comparison to what they already have at the Syrian airbase. It is just posturing and exercising for the sake of it and to give the new naval MiG-29Ks a run out in combat. The Su-33s have also been given a bombing computer update. This is the last deployment before the Kuznetsov goes in for a major overhaul and modernization that will take a couple of years.

I would surmise Putin is trying to create a "deterrent" against the US/UK/allies taking military actions against the Syrian government.

How did you go from Aleppo to Nibiru? Lol

That thing was supposed to be here 4 years ago. If it was even close to coming near us within a couple of years time, someone would've gotten pics by now considering how many people believe in that and look for it.

Oh, wait, let me guess.. it's coming from behind the sun so we can't see it. Or, it has a cloaking device or some #.

Blah.

I agree, IF Putin is planning something untoward it's a pretty brilliant move.

While the force itself isn't overly large (a carrier, battle crusier, 2 destroyers, plus support) or something that the US/NATO navy's couldn't take car of; it changes the calculus of US Options.

IF the Russians try something, and the US decides to respond; it's going to be a heck of a lot harder if the US Meds naval forces now have to counter a Russian naval threat instead of influencing events on land. Russia's land based airpower then has less opposition over Syria. It gives the Red Air Force many more options, or forces the NATO to commit to a full on Air/Sea battle in both the Med and Syria. This has the potential to get "running the Cuba blockade" tense.

It gives Putin more flexibility; at least until the carrier is sunk..........shooting down a few bombers over Syria is one thing. Sinking a carrier is a whole other level of escalations.

I would imagine there are a couple of Russian attack and/or SSGN subs with that group too.

Well, considering the state of readiness on both sides.
( Tons of broken high-tech on both side)
The probability of a misunderstanding or misinterpretation is very high.
