As an unknown german i don´t think that Harley Quinns, Poison Ivy´s, Cheerleaders, Bunnies, Schoolgirls, Unicorns, Batmans, Pokemons, Alice´s in
Wonderland are spooky or any kind of horror.
As a kid i was jealous about the US americans and their Halloween full of horror, monsters and similiar.
Nowadays there are Halloween parties in germany too, but that is just another day of the industry, to sell useless stuff on highest prices to the grey
consumers mass. And another excuse for the people to drink too much alcohol...
But it seems that Halloween even in the states isn´t that Halloween anymore, that i was jealous about as a kid.
Looking at the costume selection, it looks more like a day for Disney and Superhero Fans. Or like a children's birthday party, with unicorns and
wonderwomen. Where is that horror stuff left?
I remember me owning an audio cassette from the states as a kid, with "creepy halloween sounds" on it. To play it in your frontyard, in addition to
your decoration.
How do these decorations look nowadays?
Rainbows, soap bubbles, little white rabbits that excret sweets instead of the hard pellets that we all know?
To scare nobody(because that might be not political correct and the special snowflakes could melt...)?
Or maybe i only thought my whole life that Halloween in the states is different from that what is called Halloween nowadays. Maybe it was ever the
same, and only the transatlantic propaganda in germany made us think that it has something to do with horror and stuff...
