ATS...........please...........get a grip on yourselves and think this 2016 election thing through with me for just a brief minute.

The 2016 Election is an event with several moving parts. Lets dissect them to better understand what's really going on.

First, there's the "election" for the position of POTUS. In reality, you aren't voting for either of the two major party candidates. You're voting for preference in Electors to the Electoral College who will then vote for POTUS. You can read about this process at: en.wikipedia.org...(United_States) However, there's more to know about this POTUS election; it ISN'T AN ELECTION! At least in my opinion! Its already been decided by the PTB who will win this election. How do we know? Why would we think that? Because if you look at this closely you'll see that in most all recent POTUS elections, there's been a Republican candidate and a Democrat candidate. In this election, there's a Democrat Candidate and......Donald Trump who is, for all practical purposes, a 3rd party candidate. The Republicans have all but disowned him!

There is no Republican candidate because the Party elites had already decided amongst themselves that as for 2016 POTUS election, IT'S HILARY'S TURN! So........what about the Republican Primary races? They were a dress rehearsal for 2020, a dog and pony show. All of them knew IT'S HILARY'S turn, but for a few of the zealots like Cruz. So into the fray comes Trump and its like......"O.K. Donald, you get to run for POTUS, go for it, you get to fall on your sword, better you than one of us!"

Second, there is a REAL ELECTION you get to participate in. That's what's called the "down ballot" election where you get to vote for Senators and Representatives to the US Congress and where many of you will get to vote for your State Senators and State Representatives to your State Legislators. THESE ELECTIONS ARE REAL and VERY IMPORTANT to you! Please educate yourselves on these races; get involved; hone up on what ever referendums might be involved. Find out what's important to your community about these elections and determine which candidates best address the needs of your district, village, town, city, county and State!

Let me make myself as clear as possible, I'm not saying the POTUS election is necessarily "rigged". There's always some weird outside chance of an upset. What I'm saying is that because of the Electoral College, the POTUS election is, like a Casino is, advantage to the "house", the "house" in this case being the Party leadership of the two major parties, Republican and Democrat. The election of POTUS isn't so much "rigged" as it is "gamed". In the case of the 2016 election, its been gamed in favor of the Democrats because.........the Republican Party didn't really put up a candidate for POTUS and as we can all see, Trump has had a very difficult time getting endorsed by Republican leadership, i.e., Senators and Representatives.

In summary, do the right thing...............concentrate your attention to your "down ballot" elections.

So, for the purposes of this post.............lets discuss what's important in YOUR area, district, village, town, city and/or State?

My main concern with this election is the newly appointed SCOTUS. While I agree we have more control at local and state levels, it won't make much of a difference if we have a SCOTUS whos goal will be to dismantle the Constitution in favor of a more Authoritarian State.

Take from that what you will, but we also must not forget even if we elected a president who would do this country well, we still have a completely corrupt Congress, who would rather change the rule of law to enrich and empower themselves rather than govern for the people.

So yea, it's a mess......

SCOTUS is a real problem, to be sure. I've worried about that and I too am worried about how that may turn out.

That being said, there's a strange thing about SCOTUS.............Presidents appoint, the Senate ratifies, and the candidate goes on to the Court. But then...............they're never quite as "Liberal" nor as "Conservative" as the person who appointed them thought. Its almost as if the very fact of becoming a Supreme Court Justice "tempers" their stance.

Maybe we'll get lucky?

Maybe......I am not so sure though. For the past 2 years I have just decided to "Let the chips fall where they may.".

Unfortunately, in the case of my state elections all the way down-it's still really dirty. Once elected, the reps and council etc must fall in line with the previous officials. Then, it's still the old boys' club in the south; any woman there is just to look nice and all like "arn't they progresssive."
I'm starting to think more and more about Costa Rica-or, if I had money-somewhere way out in the South Pacific.

That's what happens when you trash and insult millions of Americans, specially woman and Hispanics.

2 of the most important fastest growing voting blocks will be voting Hillary, without them you have no chance. Then he moves on to attacking Muslims, disabled people, military families, the young, immigrants, Republicans, Democrats, Trump insulted every single voting block in the US.

But the powers that be pointed a gun to Trumps hair and made him say that right?
