The U.S. government has not yet publicly named the culprit behind the DNC hack. But there seems to be widespread agreement among cybersecurity experts and professionals that the attribution belongs to Russian intelligence actors. Whether Russia hacked the DNC intending to affect the election remains unknown.

Indeed, if that's evidence then God help us all, because we could be thrown in prison after being accused of a crime simply because "experts and professionals" agree.

That's what I like about Drudge. A real sense of humor. They do actually have some good information on stories left out of the mainstream that are not bogus, just ignored. The front page always though puts a smile on my face. Some of them are very clever and witty.

You've given the only reason which makes sense to me. They have to garner approval. A part of the President's job description is to convince the public of what the "policy makers" want to do. It's all part of the psy-op to convince Americans the Russians are doing things which they really aren't. They are trying to convince us the Russians are the aggressors.

This is weird... Why would the CIA announce and make public that they're going to take "covert" action against Russia in the mainstream media. This is pure propaganda, and they're probably going to do something entirely different. That or they made up the entire Russian hack altogether and are just following through with the lie and will do nothing. Could be that they want to see Russia's cyber counter measures?

Either way it is very strange that they would announce this and ratchet up tension during tense times. Not sure what the plan is with this one.

If there were a cyber attack on Russia planned, news reporters would be the last to know.

Also, it wouldn't be conducted by the C1A, rather the N$A, so there's that...
