Nuclear war 'IMMINENT' as Russia tells citizens to find out where the closest bunkers are

A terrifying Russian television broadcast explicitly told civilians to find out where their nearest bomb shelter is and repeatedly asked viewers if they were ready for nuclear war.

One apocalyptic broadcast told viewers on Moscow's state-owned TV channel NTV: "If it should one day happen, every one of you should know where the nearest bomb shelter is. It’s best to find out now."

Who is this "rhetoric" aimed at? Scaring the American people? This is not fearmongering unless Russia is trying to...get ready for it...

Prepare their citizenry for war (IMHO).

Is this a crescendo of a psy-op or the beginning of the end? My money is on the latter the way things are going.

I know it's hard to imagine, but we need to face the music. We're being made fools of or things are spiraling down fast.

Propaganda to freak out the citizens...their war machine will grow as a direct result of this rhetoric...

The cold war was a glorious time for the weapons industry...this is just another chapter in the new cold war with the exception that we are in perletual small skirmishes..

In the end bunkers would do nothing when considering mutual destruction..the world will end and regardless how many rations you have or gold and silver you have saved it will be meaningless...60 nuclear reactors in the US would melt down just to be the icing on the cake that completes the destruction of the world..

Bottom line there will be no nuked...just more espionage, computer hacking and buying up US property...people neef to understand that other countries have a lot to loose if the US looses...this is what a global economy looks like..

Putler is grandstanding for the Russian people and nothing more. All he has left is the nuke card and in that event there will be no winners.

Someone in the Russian government needs to remove Putin before he does something he wont be able to stop.

The Russian economy is tanking and they have no way to deal with it so we go back to the days of the USSR when it was the wests fault and not the inept Soviet leadership.

It seems to me that they are overdoing it.
Obviously this is for the benefit of the western audience, but it shows a lack of subtlety. In stage language, they are "hamming it up".

I'm just reporting the news. If this isn't relevant to the WW3 forum, nothing is. It's as on-topic as you can get. It only causes fear if you read something fearful into it.

On the topic of "talk of war", I believe WW3 has already started. I've made my case for that in other threads.

How is it geared towards a western audience when the information they are talking about comes from a Russian program hosted by Evgeny Kiselyov?

The enraged host, Evgeny Kiselyov, blasted America's "impudent behaviour" and spent two hours warning that a conflict could take "nuclear dimensions".

Apparently, you have no access to the back-channel comms that have been taking place over last several days.
( And there is partial leaks out there )

Certain parties have directed that certain weapon systems be shut down immediately, dis-assembled and returned to their previous locations. This threat was made more than 72 hours ago and has a time restriction.
Things went hot when this threat was made.
I am of the belief that responsible parties will act in a appropriate manner and the situation will be de-escalated.

Or it could be a grave of our own digging, only time will tell.
