Yes, it happens all the time. I've heard homosexuals, lesbians, and women talk like this too. Get over it. Believe it or not, there are much more pressing issues.

Do you know what verisimilitude is?

Versimilitude is a way for people to show they are pretentious.

Idiots use big words to appear smart. Smart people use the simplest words needed to put the information across clearly.

Right?

This is really kind of interesting. It's exposing the true colors of many ATS members that I once held in fairly high esteem - or at least gave a reasonable amount of respect -

that respect has now disappeared. ANY PERSON male or female or in between who speaks like that is not worthy of respect.
I'm glad you are here.

Yeah, it shows your up tight judgmental colors as well. No skin off my back. Judge someone for telling you the truth. Judge them for showing you the real world. lol I love you kind of people for obvious reasons.

I had no idea you were so judgmental and myopic.

I'll have to get back to you on 'verisimilitude'...My dictionary is holding up one of the corners of my trailer home.

That was your best post in this whole thread so far.

Yes, I'm judgemental (It's spelled judgmental here in the states, but with an 'e' in the UK). And myopic! My vision-correction prescription is a strong one.

Don't be mad because I'm educated. You can be educated too, now that you have the internet. Isn't that awesome? Use it.

Words have never hurt anyone, but those outraged by words have. And those who claim to have moral authority have often put to the flame those who they think do not have morals.

What's worrisome is not lewd talk, not bragging about hitting on women, not bragging that one can get away with anything when he's a star—all done so in private—but it's the prim and priggish prudes who condemn on that account alone, while not holding to account the people who breached privacy, stole the conversation, played it on repeat to the masses, pointed and jeered in a grand display of groupthink the very people they exposed in a sort of show-trial, all in order to sway political decision-making of the least informed.

Far worse slights against human decency are being committed here.

I am not 100% certain. She was a model, 1 time porn actress, but not the world's greatest beauty. But neither answer would mean I agree with Trump, about anything.

Funny how no one wants to answer such a simple question.

What concerns me is the groundwork being laid to make it socially acceptable to police speech.

labels exist so that we can discuss things without having to describe them....trash is trash.
ghettos are ghettos. Do you know where the term "ghetto" originated? It really meant just a separate community - a place where the 'untouchables' were forced to live. It was originally jews who were sequestered into 'ghettos'.

Now it is more about the blighted, disenfranchised, underprivileged and poorly educated communities in our urban centers.

My label would be "WASP" if people used that anymore. Generally, though, I'm just a snob. A pedantic, educated snob.
A highly principled, sensitive, observant, educated lady. Thanks for asking. I spent my career working in the 'ghettos' (urban core) because I was able to relate to the residents, and to help them improve their circumstances. They liked me! They asked for me to lead groups, to visit their homes, to come to their birthday parties.....I am a Social Worker.

Case manager. Helper. Now you all would call me an "SJW" and you'd be wrong, because I'm not that sort of social worker. In real life I'm an MSW. Know what that is? It gives me the credentials to talk about this stuff and be taken seriously.
Not that you would be impressed with all that. I'm sure it scares you.

When I was young most of the locker room talk that I heard was about sports and homework. I know that's not what many people want to hear but that's what I experienced

As an older and still athletic male most of the locker room talk is about family and investments. Still boring.

Just relating my experiences

I think they are over-looking the disrespect and illegal grabbing of p****es in his chat. One guy brought up down & dirty Christian girls which has nothing to do with the chat.

I believe there is just confusion.

No... I got your whole post. My point is... You say that it's not proper. Sure, whatever. But what you're not seeing, it's not uncommon behavior. It's out there around you every day. ONE man got busted so you think what he said is just too far and I'm saying that if that's the case then EVERYONE or damn near is just as guilty. It's not uncommon. AND it's not a bloody murder offence. People say stupid crap all the time, Trump just happened to get caught on a open mic and I personally don't see the big deal, especially when you compare it with any one else like Clinton.

You just happen to believe that he actually did it when that's just your opinion and zero fact. You're basing your judgment on something you believe he did when as someone on here already mentioned, MEN Exaggerate A LOT when they're talking about lude stuff with their buddies.

Just be yourself.

This sentence negates itself.
We've discussed this before. WORDS ARE HURTFUL. If they weren't then people wouldn't become enraged (or outraged) and hurt others BECAUSE OF THOSE WORDS.

Your pseudo-intellect leaves a lot to be desired.

Do you really talk about how it would be enjoyable to hurt women when it's just you and your guy friends?

Who's hurting women?

In what world does me saying something to my buddy hurt your mom?

Seriously...

The word is lewd. And if you say the exact things Trump said, something is wrong with you. Buzzy might not know what C U Next Tuesday means, but I do. That wasn't very nice.

Stop reading into something that it's not. It made my point based on her response. Stop being her cheerleader. She's a grown woman.

This statement at it's core is about hurting women. "And when you are a star they let you do it, you can do anything. Grab them by the p****, you can do anything"
You and others here claim this is "normal" banter. What I'm asking is do you talk with your guy friends using similar statements that make reference to hurting a women?

LOL!! I'm being more myself than I ever have been on here, as a matter of fact.

I'm an elitist intellectual snob, who is offended by crass and low-life behavior or talk. I prefer intelligent, thoughtful discourse, and I write in an academic style when I'm actually "writing".

On here I try to meet you all where you are, and get along. Or at least let you all know what I find to be ridiculous, offensive, and banal. What comes across as venal or vapid. To point out ill-conceived thinking and erroneous statements like "words never hurt anyone, but those outraged have hurt others."

Thanks for liking me anyway. It's nice.

You sound like swell company, but your logic is left to be desired.

You obviously think words hurt with your tendency for name-calling and insult, but your words are a reflection of you and not anyone else. They hurt you, because you come off as something you claim you're not.

I'm fine having a cheerleader, thanks very much. And if I'm to have one, I'd like it to be reldra and others like her.

Do us all a favor and stop being a cheerleader for Trump. He's a big boy. And I mean that literally. He's a "boy" in a man-sized suit.
