Cell Phones - Voice Mail/ Text Messaging spam

This is the new era of cell phone usage. The cell companies seem to wait for enough users to connect and then they start adding nuisances.

This isn't e-mail. Text Messaging Spam on the cellphone. Spam as in calls from other companies, etc. Let's not forget voice mail spam. This amounts to an additional cost of $10-20 per cell phone user.

Is this only a Canadian thing, or are people from around the world subject to such spam as well.
