How about a Non Lethal Gun that Shoots Knock Out Gas Canisters . As soon as a round hits the Perps Body , it Explodes Rapidly , and in One Breathe they become Unconscious . Another Idea would be a Tranquillizer Gun for Humans .

No one died, isn't this a good thing?

This is an unbelievably ignorant statement.

Why?

Why didn't she try to subdue him by Verbally Shaming him ? It works on Dogs .

Did you come up with that witty remark all by yourself or did you need help driving the Inane Train?

what about dispersion rate what about the wind blowing, to many variables in using that.

you do know that when a tranq gun is used on animals there is a dosages size, they estimate how big the animal is and then load the amount of tranquillizer. to much can kill, not enough doesn't knocks them out i would think the same applies to humans.

Why didn't she pepper spray him? Seriously? She almost got killed by some nut job. #JUSTANOTHERDAYINTHEUSFUNNYFARM

I read that she tasered the man, but he was high on PCP. I'll have to look up what PCP is. I thought it was bug killer for crops.

Well, I know at least one three year old who would find it mildly clever. So there's that.

It is more commonly known as "angel dust". It must be making a comeback.

Why was she alone?
That makes no sense.

Wasn't alone.

"The officer’s partner hit the man with a Taser and pepper spray, and he was arrested. Two other officers were injured arresting the man. All three officers were taken to Lutheran General. The man arrested was treated at Loretto Hospital."

This guy was apparently an ANIMAL. One with a prior record of violence.

Could be in Powdered Form . The consistency of Talcum Powder . Particles at a High Velocity disperse more rapidly than a gas .

"ANGEL" dust? It had the opposite affect on this criminal. Come to think of it, I remember seeing a movie in the late 1970's where drug dealers were making a lot of money selling "angel dust". I think the movie was "Shaft".

That comment was hilarious and actually quite clever... I don't know, does calling someone a dog have the same meaning over there in Cali as it does here in Australia?

I've heard it used once or twice on Hollywood movies to describe the lowest form of person... but generally you guys tend to use the word 'rat' rather than 'dog'... so maybe you didn't get it?

lol

I'm guessing common sense died long ago in some people.

Why would you willingly allow someone to cause you bodily harm like that ?

Common sense dictates that the POS doing the assault (on a woman no less) needs to be apprehended for the good of the general population. Whatever it takes.

If people get mad about it, too bad; the truth will come out in the end, and it's the officers job to enforce the law in just terms regardless of what people say.

That whole story sounds suspiciously like a contrived public martyrdom to me...even after reading it several times. Perhaps it's just my cynical side being extra cynical, but it seems very sketchy. If that's actually the case, I hope it was really worth it to her.

She should have shot him. I would have. And consequences be damned. That's a very stupid way to get yourself killed, and if it was legit, she's lucky she didn't.

She is a victim...but she should not be a policeman either. If you cannot kill when needed you are useless.

Actually a good alternative weapon load is the HESH round for body armored targets. but for normal targets the use of high power riot rounds would be better. Sure you might break some bones but you will put them down hard non lethally. These things expand into a plus shape on exiting the barrel. its short range but high impact.

We could use elephant darts.

Lol

I would hate to be a cop with the media crap.

They make me nervous when tailgating me, or when I see them speed trapping.
The one who gave me a warning was cool. The one who didn't made me whine.

But I am not going to seek out and lock up rapists, killers, meth heads, etc, etc..... so they get some props from me.

Tear gas the guy, if he looks like he needs it, then escalate from there imo.

Chicago Cops are under enormous pressure right now.

Lots of scrutiny.

Some are going through a "reduced" violence program for handling arrests.

The "Austin" District is one of the most violent crime areas in the country.

Many police assigned there are rookies.
