Two recent articles of human longevity has, at least IMO, verified for me that GOD literally by genetic engineering puts a limit on human life to be 120 years. Below I offer links to ponder.

Note: In the wiki link only one person is said to be "verified" at living to 122 years. My opinion on this is that a) It's wrong or b) GOD's limit of 120 years has a small margin of error over the time of the evolution of man. Enjoy. (Google by title if Apple links don't work)

Dang... this woman smoked and still lived to be OLD!

By the time she died of a blood clot at age 117, her son was already in the same nursing home and her oldest living daughter was 90 years old. Now that would make you feel old, a 90 year old daughter. She was said to be a vegetarian and an “Avid Cigarette Smoker” (as opposed to a normal cigarette smoker?)
listverse.com...

This guys owes his longevity to the "Gods".. he drank and smoked.

Izumi was a Japanese born supercentenarian. His name was recorded in Japan’s first census in 1871. He also holds the world record for the longest working life. He worked a total of 98 years. His wife died at age 90, which is still a pretty good run. He drank brown sugar shochu, an alcoholic beverage distilled from barley or rice. Interestingly he took up smoking at age 70. Lord knows why. Hanging with the cool kids maybe? He started working in 1872, when he was six years old (this is what he says anyway) and continued working until 1970 at age 105. He says his long life is the work of the gods, Buddha and the sun. he lived through a total of 71 Japanese prime minister

Same link... this lady lived to be 122!!! She met Vincent Van Gogh and watched the Eiffel Tower be built.

She smoked right up until she was 117. Calment ascribed her longevity and youthful looks to olive oil. She rubbed it on her skin, drank it and used it in cooking. She enjoyed port wine and ate almost one kilogram (2.2lbs) of chocolate per week.

I will use Olive Oil even more now. lol

I had no idea God was a scientist specializing in genetic engineering.

You learn something new every day.

Your God is irrelevant.

We will live as long as we want now.

Why does God need a margin of error?

Well if the bible said it it's gotta be true. Anyone living past this "genetically engineered (lmfao)" life span is the devil.

If only he specialised in chemistry he might have made the water drinkable.

Cos he's man made. Margin of error is a human concept.

Anything much over 100 is gonna need a lot of science pushing it. We got telomere issues which tend to be around the 125 top range for division, so until that is resolved (most likely through either genetic engineering or nano-assembly) then we are pretty much topped up there anyhow.

If we however go cyborg, then things change, being a brain in a machine will resolve a lot of issues outside of the brain matter decay and such of course, but brain tissue is a bit different than the rest of the body. it doesn't break down like the rest. I think the brain in a jar thing has upwards of a 900 year possible shelf life..which is a pretty good stretch (of course on your 899th birthday you will think another 1k would be nice)

Ha! Here is another lesson for ya.

If there is a God who created the Universe and us I imagine it also created Science. lol

Like... created everything seen and unseen.

That was free... you don't even have to thank me.

God do that in a later edit or modification? Didn't those OT dudes live like 400 years or more? Wasn't Noah like 950 years old when he died? Was it after Moses died at 120 that God thought, "You know, that's probably long enough."

Cells technically stop 'aging' after a certain point in a persons life, if they reach that stage they could live for a long time. Usually when people live to that age it's the vices that relieved stress keep them healthy. Stress is a huge factor in a persons health, live a relatively stress fee life and your chances of living longer rise.

I have a question for you if you care to look into it.
This was said in Genesis 6:3 was it not? That was in the antediluvian world and at this time the world was still engulfed in a canopy of water and was in a green house effect. In other words the world was a closed environment with no visual contact with the universe as we have today. The sun was a shielded light which more than likely could be viewed without any danger to the eyes. This greenhouse eco system was probably enjoyed for well over 1,600 years before the shield of water fell and created an open environment. The universe then became visible and the sciences changed drastically.

My question is this. What was a year in the closed antediluvian period? As Noah observed a year, it was observed as a season in a closed environment. Today we have two equinoxes in one year. Did the antediluvian world have only one equinox in their closed environment? Reading a study on this recently and brings a lot of questions to mind including the life span of the people from the antediluvian period compared with our period. I am led to believe that the equinoxes that we observe today were not as they were then as well as the canopy of water which slowed the rotation of the world with the added weight and would then lengthen time. I believe the entire sciences have changed.

Dunno about god and such, but if there wasn't a shelf life on people, there would be one hell of a population problem.

I hate to be the one to do this but........ Unless you have had a personal liaison with God and he has actually told you this then its nonsense.

Ah, the bible says.

There is one person( reported which might suggest that not everyone is documented) who has exceeded the 120 years and the fact that science is in a constant state of flux concerning the nature and reality of our existence leads me to throw out a wild theory about this subject. We, people are wrong. We don't know and we are unlikely to know. Every time I see a new science definite I can't but help think about all the things science and religion has been wrong on....... Is this person special? Did God single them out specially?

Stuff that is based upon a book authored by who knows, from a religion based on blind faith, confirmed by people who have learned the science but disregard what we are( if we even know) .......... Religion used to be the control mechinism, now science is......... Funny how they seem to agree as of late on things.

Here is what I know. Be careful with your beliefs and be especially careful with beliefs that limit anything.

It s similiar to clones degradation. you cant clone a clone forever. Eventually the clones get worse and worse.

You mean normal GOD created Human Physical constuct; NOT (a human Frankenstein's *Monster*) Life ONLY; correct? What about the ETERNAL Spirital Spark that animates the Human Physical? Does God creat this or is it a byproduct energy of a human only when ANIMATED? You are saying the human being is a Zombie life form.

God is funny.

First... he told me I wont live forever.
Then he told me... when you go... no one will follow you.

So... it dawned on me... like the morning star... come one... come all... you lousy sons'a'witches.

Thanks for all the love.

Now... god is pissed because I retired from heroism and patriotism.
