The Peace of God to all that belong to the Light,
Dear Readers,

Although Many are giving for granted that this 2016 Angela Merkel, German Cancellor, will win the Nobel Peace Award for her work in the crisis of refuges in Europe, I have the strange feeling that the news of this week coming from Colombia will move the greatest weight toward their possibilities in the contest.

First at all it is true the German politican has been so actively working for the Syrian refuges, but also that she had part on the events that triggered the Ukrainian civil war, something that in my opinion will be also weighted carefully by Oslo before to decide in her favor the award.

I am sure Colombians that love peace are passing extremely difficult moments due to the shocking result of the referendum Yesterday, about the peace agreements in between the government and the subversive group FARC, extremely tied among the supporters of it, who voted Yes and the ones opposing it, who voted NO.

Please check:
www.reuters.com...

I have the strange feeling that the unexpected issue of the referendum results, after the agreement was successfully negotiated with the help of Cuba and the Vatican city, and signed in La Havana in August and ratified the previous week in Cartagena could generate the necessary dramatic momentum to move the Peace award this Friday for that country, or if not on the 2017 or 2018 versions of it.

Please check:
www.nytimes.com...

The tension generated for this really serious inconvenient, the slight so narrow majority that the No got in the referendum is in my opinion an interesting factor that offers the resistance element required to push the Nobel to the so suffered South American nation struggling for peace since many decades ago of internal conflict.

Please check:
www.voanews.com...

Let me explain my point in this forecast: The equanimity to accept the results of the referendum, that proven to be authentically clean and transparent, since it was a really tied result not in favor of the government, but still showing immense popular support to the peace process, and the decision of both Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos and his counter part the commandant of the FARC Timoleon Jimenez of to stand in the cease of fire and continue working for the peace, in spite of the opposition of powerful political sectors, could trigger the decision of the Norwegian Academy either this Friday or at sometime in the following years in their favor.

Please Read,

www.telegraph.co.uk...

The Nobel award of Peace sometimes has been granted to leaders that have already reached outstanding achievements in search for peace, but in many more the recipients have been activists struggling a lot for the defense of human rights, noble causes or Justice in very adverse circumstances.

This has been the case of Martin Luther King Jr, Mother Teresa, Nelson Mandela, Amnesty International, Rigoberta Menchu, Al Gore, Jimmy Carter, the 14th Dalai Lama, Desmond Tutu, Lech Walesa, etc.. None of these Nobel awards were successful politicians at the time they received this recognition, as a matter of fact they were in general considered failed leaders defending very difficult and unlikely winning causes.

Please check:
en.wikipedia.org...

One thing is sure, among all the nominees, it is probably the Colombian ones who require more urgently such stimulus as it is the Peace Nobel Award to continue their so challenging job to create a stable peace through a negotiation process that have been proven to be among the most difficult of History since it is taken place where there is so much cumulated hatred, division and violence.

Please check
www.nobelprize.org...

What Colombia experienced Yesterday it was the most unexpected outcome of the referendum, a technical tied result in between the Yes and the No. It is clear that this ended half and half for each choice, with a terrible high index of abstention, about 50% of the people habilitated to vote really did so.

Nevertheless, the State Council in Colombia had declared about a month ago that it sufficed that the Yes would get 45000000 votes to approve the Peace agreement and happily the final results are showing almost 2 million votes over that minumum threshold.

So, it seems the constitutional frame work is still keeping the Peace agreement safe to be declared sunk, but possibly negotiations will take place to refine the terms in which must be implemented.

Please check:
www.economist.com...

The thread is open to all the members interested in this so difficult peace process that is taking place in the heart of our hemisphere, on a so strategic democratic nation, one of the two most reliable US allies in south America, the only in that continent with coasts in the two oceans, whose waters surround the Panama Canal, as well as the Gulf of Venezuela, crossed by the equator line, the Andes mountains, the Guyana shield, and it has access corridors to the Amazon and Orinoco Rivers.

Thanks,

The peace of God to all that belong to the Light,
Dear Readers,

I think it is important to add in this reflection of the vote outcome of the Peace agreement this past Sunday in Colombia the following aspects:

Many people that decided to vote No were brainwashed by a so Negative campaign that was remarking only the bad aspects of the nation, fear, anxiety, destructive critics was the fuel of the campaign for the NO.

This was not an objective evaluation of a Peace process, it was the strategy of a political force that is doing opposition against the government trying to promote in all possible ways a third term for the Presidency for the well known radical right wing politician Alvaro Uribe.

The campaign for the No was not constructive critics at all, but a systematic boycott to a serious peace process from a single political Party, moreover, the obsession of a Senator, a former President, that didn't show any interest in this agreement until the referendum became already scheduled.

The Senate as well as the House of Representatives of Colombia had all the time access to the peace negotiators, they could in many possible civilized ways had contributed in to design, refine or adjust the agenda of the negotiation, but instead of that who were promoting the NO this Sunday were systematically ignoring the process, never showing interest on to take part on it a long four years of talks.

Mr. Uribe jeopardized with his so negative mental attitude a process that was not President Santos sole initiative, it was also the work of 4 years of former Vice President Humberto de la Calle, an extremely prestigious and experienced statesman and it was closely monitored by the ASO, the United Nations and the Holy See.

Uribe's campaign against the Peace deal is not only disappointing but unfortunately has all the characteristics of a genuine political conspiracy against a government and moreover against the rule of democracy, a try to establish again a kind of hard rule of only one party in Colombia.

Thanks,

The Angel of Lightness

The Peace of God to all that belong to the Light,
Dear Readers,

Few times we have seen Nobel peace award recipients walking a so much intense and difficult path than the case of Mr. Juan Manuel Santos, President of the Republic of Columbia, nevertheless when one has the immense fortunate opportunity to see something like that it is always among the best awarded figures of History.

please check:
www.bbc.com...

When Rigoberta Menchu and Martin Luther King won it they were already menaced of death, when Nelson Mandela and Lecht Walesa won it they were already imprisoned. The path to the Nobel Peace Prize is full of Hardship and incomprehension, and for Juan Manuel Santos was not different until the precise week he won it

Please check:
www.msn.com...

Whatsoever can be the criticism against him President Santos has already received the favorable judgement of History, in his case not only National Colombian one but the Universal.

Please check:
www.nobelprize.org...

Many times happen that Nobel awarded leaders must insist to defend a noble and fair cause in spite of the opposition of his own fellow country citizens, in that sense President Santos share a lot in common with Isaac Rabin, Yaser Arafat and Mikhail.

Please check:
www.nytimes.com...

If at some time in future, lets say in thousand years ahead of our epoch, somebody remember or mention in books the name of any of the figures that helped him as well as who opposed him in a fiercely or stuborn way, it should be necessarily associated to his name. Belisario Betancur, Virgilio Barco, Cesar Gaviria, and even the so controversial Alvaro Uribe will be only recalled by historians at that time due to their link with President Juan Manuel Santos.

if the idea this Sunday was to do something effective to boycott the possibility that Santos would win the Nobel who arranged the movement for the NO was absolutely wrong, happily instead to jeopardize the outcome it boost it enormously and also it narrow the bounds of preference to only one single person giant effort for peace as recipient.

Please check:

www.cnn.com...

The award Committee wisely was able to see the bad intention of the people that tried to stop a process that is vital not only for the future of Colombia but for the political stability of the different regions that intersect in this unique country: the Andes, the Caribbean, The Amazon basin, the Guyana Shield and Orinoco basin, the equatorial Pacific basin and the intercontinental isthmus shared with Panama and Costa Rica.

I am really so optimistic and glad for the acknowledgement of a candidate it was in this thread predicted was going in a fast track to win the Nobel award of Peace, it was exciting to be part of History and forecast what right now many media is saying was a surprising decision.

It was not Only Colombia who won in this version 2016 of the Nobel , it was the entire world that is so thirsty of Peace agreements, that needs urgently people working decidedly to stop the so many conflicts around the world in a civilized way, intelligent minds that find the narrow path that put entire countries that are devastated and collapsing in way to full recovering.

Thanks for your attention,

The Peace of God to all that belong to the light,
Dear Readers,

The victory of Donald Trump in the General election in America is showing that the possibility to see the Americas as one single politic and economic block is unlikely to occur in the near future, the new American administration represent a revolution against the establishment that was pushing the agenda of the NAFTA and the Global economy, and so it is basically a return to protectionist position.

To understand what happened this week in America, with the surprising outcome of the election, we need to don't underestimate the fact that the crisis that we have right now in the world are showing to the countries that are not located in the traditionally accepted poles of economic power, like Europe, North America or Far East, that we are gradually moving toward a multipolar world, that is the future of civilization.

The Juan Manuel Santos Administration has understood the new dynamics of change in the world when decided to move forward in a peace negotiation, the arrival of Donald Trump to power was the chronicle of a foretold death, as Garcia Marquez might said, the one of the global capitalism as we have known it in the last 25 years.

Under the new Trump protectionist approach that wants to cut American expenditure in other nations, it is likely that Plan Colombia has , as it also the case of NAFTA, their days already counted, and it is so vital to end a conflict in Colombia as soon as possible in order to assure the political stability without dependency from resources that can be no longer available from abroad.

It is fundamental to understand that we are witnessing the collapse of the global economy, since Americans clearly voted against it this Tuesday. Hence, after it we are going to see each region of the world regaining control of itself, and that only can be obtained when the peoples of those nations, like Colombia, stop to think that their best interest is going to be protected from other nations for friendly that they appear.

China and India that are emergent economies growing so fast at present are showing that the balance of power in the world is moving dramatically from the North to the south right now. Colombians can gain a lot by working together than to continue divided through ideological systems in a time that has proven that all ideologies have failed to provide to humanity the progress it requires.

We had in between 1988-1991 the Collapse of Eastern European Communism, preceded by the moderation and complete redesign of a system with two completely different economic systems in China in between 1981 to 1989 and followed by the so strong post Gulf war of 1991-3 recessions in the western Capitalism. Now, in between 2008 and 2011 we experience the strongest recession of the global economy.

Colombians have matured a lot during the last two decades, they now realize that the divisions that were created artificially from abroad in between them are no valid ones, that they can build a strongest economy if they tire down the walls that have been created along decades of to have played games of power that basically were controlled from other points of the world.

The Geographic position of Colombia is an advantage to create an economy that can be a bridge in between far east, Europe and North America, a privileged point of exchange of not only goods and services but of Technology and science.

This is the reason for which a successful peace agreement and process in the country is the only safe path to create the conditions for a new stable and sustained economic boom, since will remove the so high expenses of an internal war that is no longer convenient for the parts involved on it.

Colombia is nation with clear industrial vocation, is a nation that has a lot of revenue from manufacturing and for that reason is the natural substitute of the influence of United States in the Andean and Amazonian regions. The country could become a kind of German or Japanese miracle in that part of the world if focus all their energies and efforts in to pursue economic growing once released of the weight of a conflict that has no longer sense to continue.

Mexico also if it is forced to move away from NAFTA, by the hostility of Donald Trump, has an important industrial experience gained along a quarter of century that can allow them to enter successfully as part of a Central American and Caribbean common Market. That is the only possibility that Mexicans have to substitute their exportations to USA that are in danger of to disappear from the new political climate.

Thanks,

The Angel of Lightness

The Peace of God to all that belong to the Light,
Dear Readers,

President of Colombia received formally the 2016 Nobel Peace award, for his Leading effort to sign a peace agreement with Farc that was recently approved by the Colombian congress, this happened this weekend in a
Oslo, Norway.

Please check:
www.aljazeera.com...

He is the second Colombian to be Nobel awarded after Gabriel Garcia-Marquez in Literature by 1982. Only one other Head of State of Latin America was recipient of this same distinction in History.

Costa Rica's President Oscar Arias Sánchez who was awarded in 1987 for a plan designed to put an end to the cruel civil wars that were devastating Central America. In August 1987, the peace plan was approved by Costa Rica, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua. It aimed at free elections, safeguards for human rights, and an end to foreign interference in the countries' internal affairs.

Please check:
www.youtube.com...

This Nobel Prize arrives in the best possible moment not only for Colombia, that has been working so much hard and seriously to fix its own internal differences but for a world that has been punished terribly in this 2016 with a lot of civil wars around the world: Syria, Libya, Afghanistan, Iraq, Ukraine, Egypt.

What President Juan Manuel Santos has done in Colombia is a an example of how to achieve a so difficult but desirable goal to change in a positive way the life of a nation that is without doubt one of the important of the continent and so of the world and that needed to overcome the conflicts of the past to move successfully in to the XXI century.

Colombia is the second most populated country that speaks Spanish in the Americas, after Mexico, as well as the second most populated of South America behind Brazil, as well as to be the relatively more industrialized country of the Andes.

Juan Manuel Santos had been awarded already in 2013 with the Woodrow Wilson of Public service. The Woodrow Wilson Award is given to those individuals whose actions and accomplishments, either in their careers or through service, reflect President Woodrow Wilson’s belief that “there is no higher religion than human service. To work for the common good is the greatest creed.” Such individuals have been recognized worldwide by The Wilson Center since 1998. -

See more at: www.wilsoncenter.org...

The third millennium has really arrived for Colombia at the end of 2016, but what really matters is that the stability that Colombians are gaining with this peace agreement is going start a new era of progress for that nation and also to be a positive influence in a region where there is a lot of agitation and other important neighbor nations also suffering of really polarized internal confrontations like it is the case of Brazil and Venezuela.

The world, not only Colombia, needed the success of this peace agreement to open a window of hope for the negotiation of peaceful solutions in other extremely conflictive points of the world where it is strongly required intelligent negotiations to stop blood baths that can't continue for too much more time.

Thanks for your attention,
