maybe that's when they'll fully implement those data miners on people eh? flip the switch when the entire country is in panic, so when things are back to normal, everything will be monitored. Not that a lot of things arent already.

The story references the widely evolving attitude that the Internet is now a critical public utility, much like electricity, natural gas, water, etc. Many of the more important of these steps are already in-place in the US, and it seems the UK is slightly behind (though "police" are not the entities in the US designated to ensure the Internet stays up, instead is federal public service commissions -forget the name- -not FEMA-).
