Those of us who are good a "reading" people can see that Hillary Clinton is one of the smoothest liars in modern politics. It comes so effortlessly and naturally that Hillary would easily pass any lie-detector test. Even if she were to tell a blatant lie, such as, "My husband is not an adulterer", her physiology would not deviate enough to trigger the detector.

This brings us to Hillary's public statements, vs what she says in private to larger donors. Word is now leaking out that Hillary doesn't really plan pushing for Free College, Taxing Billionaires, Government Healthcare For All, etc..

Hillary Clinton delivered a private speech earlier in the year to donors, where she proclaimed that she isn't really a Progressive Liberal, but more of Centrist. Somehow a recording of this speech made it to a media outlet, and was revealed earlier today.

Story: theintercept.com...

Now, it's becoming clearer why Hillary Clinton's promise to raise taxes on the wealthy, high enough to generate over $1.2 Trillion dollars in additional government revenue, is not turning wealthy business people or TV/Movie stars against her. SHE NEVER PLANS ON DOING IT. All the Progressive statements and promises Hillary makes on the Public campaign trail, contradict what she tells her powerful and influential donors, in private.

And Hillary-ites think Trump is "bamboozling" his supporters? The actual EVIDENCE of bamboozling is piling up on Hillary Clinton's side of the scale.

-cwm

p.s. Didn't Mitt Romney's campaign start imploding when a "secret" recording was made public?

Don't worry, every bankster, government agency, and politician wants that lying sack to have the power to forgive the lawbreakers - it can only end badly for us

There's already a thread about this and it's not any more impressive the second time around. Hillary is a neoliberal. Everyone already knows this.

This is pretty weak.

So I think we should all be really understanding of that and should try to do the best we can not to be, you know, a wet blanket on idealism. We want people to be idealistic. We want them to set big goals. But to take what we can achieve now and try to present them as bigger goals.

Oh no! She's talking about being pragamatic without discouraging idealistic youth. This is surely going to get Trump into the White House.

Yawn.

This isn't news. If you followed the left wing, you'd know that Hillary is a "Third Way Democrat". They're whole thing is merging left wing and right wing policies.

In politics, the Third Way is a position akin to centrism that tries to reconcile right-wing and left-wing politics by advocating a varying synthesis of right-wing economic and left-wing social policies. The Third Way was created as a serious re-evaluation of political policies within various centre-left progressive movements in response to international doubt regarding the economic viability of the state; economic interventionist policies that had previously been popularized by Keynesianism and contrasted with the corresponding rise of popularity for economic liberalism and the New Right. The Third Way is promoted by some social democratic and social liberal movements.

One of their common tactics is something called "triangulation.

In politics, triangulation is the strategy in which a political candidate presents their ideology as being above or between the left and right sides (or "wings") of a traditional (e.g. American or British) democratic political spectrum. It involves adopting for oneself some of the ideas of one's political opponent. The logic behind it is that it both takes credit for the opponent's ideas, and insulates the triangulator from attacks on that particular issue.

Now combine the Third Way perspective with the triangulation technique and many aspects of "neo-liberalism" and you've got the modern Democratic Party's national leadership. Actual progressives have been fighting against them for decades, most notably with Bill Clinton during his presidencies.

That's why the Democratic Party leadership "coincidentally" backs many Republican ideas, like Obamacare being based on Romneycare while dismissing both single payer and the "public option"; Bill Clinton agreeing to slash Welfare and agreeing to the "Don't Ask Don't Tell" policy; supporting both the "War on Terror" and the "War on Drugs"; refusing to prosecute the Bush administration for torture or the Iraq War (or even to look into 9/11); Obama being willing to put Social Security on the bargaining table in a "grand bargain"; etc. Remember, we're not talking about rhetoric and cute speeches; we're talking about the policies they actually implement.

Long story short, the Democratic Party has been taking actual progressives for granted for decades. It's not a coincidence that the Democratic Party didn't push through any climate change legislation, anti-"War on Drugs" legislation, immigration reform, criminal justice system reform, or any other major progressive priority when they had large majorities in both Houses of Congress during Obama's first term. Many progressive Democrats may want those things, but you can see where the party's leadership stands on those issues by looking at what they actually pass.

This is why the actual left wing started supporting Elizabeth Warren & crazy Alan Grayson; because they at least spoke up for some of our values and policy positions. This is also why so many of us flocked to Bernie; because there was the hope that we could take the Democratic Party away from the Third Ways and the Corporate Democrats (you know, the Dems that are major Wall Street shills). Senator Obama tricked us into thinking he was on our side, but his actual policies showed his true loyalties.

So no, it's not surprising in the least that Hillary isn't a progressive. We've been saying that for years & it was a major point during the Democratic primaries. Unfortunately, Repubs had to nominate the one candidate that is so repulsive that many progressives are going to vote for Hillary just to prevent that guy from becoming President. Otherwise, Jill Stein would be seeing much stronger support.

If you like that... than your going to love this.

LEAKED AUDIO: Hillary belittling ideas like “free college, free healthcare” at private event -- and regards millennials seeking big reforms as NAIVE.

Definitely the "progressive" candidate! Suckers.

Exactly, Konduit! Hillary's only appeal to many of her voters is the "Free" stuff. When people are stopped on the street and asked, what does Hillary stand for, these items are the only things that they can recall. Learning that she's only making these promises, in order to generate votes, is a GAME CHANGER, in my opinion.

It's a relief to hear her say this, in a way. I had been racking my brain, trying to figure out WHY big celebrities, corporate CEO's, and Billionaire entrepreneurs so staunchly support Hillary. She tells the world every day how she's going to sock these "greedy" elites, with a staggering $1.4 Trillion tax bill.

Now that I know that Hillary is assuring them in private meetings, that she's not going to significantly increase their taxes, their support is understandable...sort of.

Looking at U.S. from Northern Europe, many things that Clinton campaign is saying sounds more like what our moderate right are saying than anything leftist-progressive.

If the country is dumb enough to elect another old-fashioned deceitful politician to the White House, it's most likely that Hillary will do what she's promising the elite in closed-meetings, instead of what she's spouting at her campaign stops.

Oh no, she is telling the people who are giving her money something else than she tells people who should vote for her.

How could this be?

Because it is the same as you when you are talking to your boss ("project is running on course, near mint condition, no worries!") compared to when you talk to your collegues ("we will never make the milestone! whoever put those milestones doe not have any clue about reality!").

Because you want something from them. Therefore you tell them what they want to hear.

At least it works that way in politics, I heard.

Can you imagine how Donald Trump would be spit-roasted if he was recorded telling private donors that his public platform is just to garner votes from a gullible public? This story would be the headline and main talking-point of the weekend, and beyond, for every mainstream media outlet!

Didn't a similar secret recording between Mitt Romney and a group of private-event donors, hurt his campaign badly? And, if I recall correctly, what Romney said was menial, compared to what Hillary is telling rich donors, at private events.
