I really want to know how if/can you embed images in to a post without uploading to ATS... I think it I would brave the longevity of the source I link Vs. having to upload and use up ATS server space.

OK what about an image i find on say.. google image search. Meaning the image is already on the "web"?
I am trying to avert the ...d/l, up/l loop for no reason.

We used to allow hotlinking, but I don't believe we do anymore. It has to be uploaded either to a hosting site, or ATS.

Maybe it(hotlinking) should be reconsidered..what is/was the harm in doing so?

There are copyright and bandwidth issues involved with hotlinking.

Just to clarify things for me.
If I upload to Photobucket and place link here on ATS, then I am attributed to the "source" and it removes liability to ATS for the source or hotlinking. And(I assume) that when I upload an image to your server. the same deal occurs, I am attributed again, and removes liability from ATS...somthing like this?

Something along those lines, yes. And the bandwidth used isn't eating up bandwidth from other websites, and causing them hassle.
