Quick question: do you personally have any sense of taste or decorum? What we used to call "good manners"?

If so, you know exactly what the issue is with what Mr. Trump has done in this case and many others.

This disingenuous charade does nothing for you. Indeed, it makes you look rather small.

We do not insult people simply because we do not wished to hurt their feelings. Trump has no feelings though, so the ugly, fat SOB is fair game aspiring hecklers.

Thanks for proving the point.

You must be Hostess 'cause that was a Zinger! I gave what i think is my BoobVaginaWife a swift backhand as a sign of my loyalty to your cause.

An aside here, but are you aware that women bleed too?

If I post examples of people making fun of men for their weight, like say maybe, SNL, Colbert, Jon Stewart, journalists, etc. you would say they are all douches and dirt bags and man haters, right?

LOL.

You can't be for real...right?

You want to compare comedians making jokes...because that is their job...to Trump calling a women an eating machine?

You are so deep in the tank for Trump, I don't think you are thinking clearly.

So let me get this straight. What Trump did was against good taste. Ok I can agree with that.

But all of the people on this thread calling him fat orange, douche, etc. and all of the media personalities that have made fun of trumps weight and looks, this is all in good taste?

This is what bothers me.

People in the mainstream have gone bananas all day over this story. They only thing they have on tape is Trump saying she gained weight and needs to lose some. They take this womans word that he called her names, and this is enough proof for them that he hates women.

These same media people have hearsay from people like Clintons secret service agent that says she said terrible things, but this hearsay is not good enough.

These same media people also make fun of Trumps appearance, yet this is not considered man hating.

The Machado story is a non issue.

If making rude jokes about someones appearance is in bad taste, it should always be in bad taste no matter who the target is. I think that people that think it is ok to attack some people and not others (and that are pretending they have never made a rude joke about someones appearance)are being disingenuous making themselves look small.

Trump's misogyny may or may not be real.
There was only one person on that stage last night that had laughed about destroying a 12 year old girl's reputation in order to make sure a rapist went free.

So it is ok to mock someone looks if you are a comedian. Ok I got you. So If Colbert called Machado fat and Miss Piggy, it would be totally ok right. He can say anything because its his job.

And it not just comedians making fun of Trumps looks. Its people on this thread, journalists, and all sorts of people.

Why is it so hard for you all to say either making fun of someones looks is not a big deal, or it is never justified?

Like the "good manners" old Lester had last night "moderating" the debates? What a farce it was just like this issue with an overweight employee. He's a NY businessman and tact isn't their main quality if you haven't already noticed. I worked for a guy like Trump a couple decades ago, he made his fortune in Brooklyn and eventually moved out to the midwest. The guy could come across as the biggest assh*le sometimes, but he really wasn't like that at all. He was the type of guy who'd give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. I hear many of these same things said from current and former employees of Trump, but if you haven't dealt with a NY businessman before you'd never fully understand.

No one is talking about her contract clause...they are talking about the names Trump called her.

Now, he could have been a professional about it and talked to her about this privately and pointed out that it is in her contract to maintain a certain weight...but that's not Trump. Trump is a douche...and he did what a douche would do...call her out in front of others and insult her by calling her names.

There is no hypocrisy....Trump is a dirtbag.

It's not like nobody noticed she gained half her bodyweight, ya think?!

"hey, lookin good there Machado, you gonna eat that other cheese cake too or can I have a slice?", said by a late colleague.

She should have asked to get out of her contract and give up her crown to sort things out.

Ffs. Ill say it. Some additional fat shaming on both men and women would do this country some good. For the record i dont find said woman fat at all and i find Mr. Trump much more so. Im a guy and i dont find super skinny women attractive. Like the women in fashion shows or beauty pageants for example.

That level of skinny is just off putting for me. However both candidates appear as if they are approaching obese levels and that crap is too rampant as of late. Idk how Trump is getting laid. Fact is the average overweight and obese levels are out of control for both adult men and women in the US. People need to get that # under control its not rocket science.

I dont think calling people fat to their face is the nicest or right - to strangers it is plain wrong. And mocking is never cool. But between friends and family and those under contract? Yeah if it is only concerning facts being mentioned and solutions or advice being offered itd do some good.

I await the slaying to come.

You must live in Trump's fantasy reality.

This is just common sense for most people...but when you are in love with a celebrity, I guess you will throw away all logic to defend him.

Such a shame it always devolves to the personal attacks. Generally when it delves to this level said person is the loser of the argument.

Is this really how you conduct yourself in real life, or are you "in the closet" so to speak? I only ask because almost everyone is brought up to "Be respectful to those around you." and "Treat others as you wish to be treated." These lesson are pretty universally accepted as "the right way" to act around others. You and Trump were either not raised on values like these or you just didn't care.

If you treat people like crap they return the favor.

Unlike Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump has been involved in REAL WORLD events. He does as much in a year, as Hillary has done in 30 years.

Naturally, there will be far more controversies accompanying the lifestyle of Billionaire, Jet-setting, Casino magnate, Donald J. Trump. A man who only sleeps 4 hours a night.

It surprises me how many so-called "intelligent" people are surprised when something controversial comes up involving Donald Trump. It goes with his lifestyle. Hillary couldn't live it if she tried. It would kill the old girl in less than a year.

If Trump felt that way about Machado, would he then be allowed to make fun of her weight?

The question shouldn't be whether or not he is "allowed" to say anything; the first amendment affords him and every other American the right to do so. It should be; does this country really want to elect a candidate who thinks it's appropriate to behave like a grade schooler and mock people for their physical appearance?

It is a stark fact that Donald Trump is fat...and that is actually an understatement. He is morbidly obese. Do I think it's OK for people to mock him for his weight? No. I don't think it's OK to publicly mock anyone for their weight or any other aspect of their physical appearance...even if they mocked someone else first.

However, in keeping with the grade school mentality of this thread...and really, the entire election thus far...he asked for it. If he had never mocked someone's weight in the first place, his own porcine appearance would not be a subject of contention right now. That is the Law of Three. The inevitability of Karma.

But from a political standpoint, adopting the role of a presidential candidate who makes fun of fat women in a nation that is among the top twenty most obese countries in the world, with the highest percentage of obesity being made up of women, is a pretty stupid move. It is particularly unwise right now too, considering the strong, ongoing push against negative body image, weight-based discrimination and bullying in this country.

It is a fact that women are generally held to a harsher standard in society as a whole with regard to weight. It is a fact that it's more socially acceptable for a man to be overweight than a woman. It is also a fact that this has been the case for a very long time. That is not equality.

So the flip side of your argument is that if Donald Trump wants to make fun of a woman for being overweight, your terms of fairness dictate that he has no valid reason to get upset when other women make fun of his weight too. That is equality.

There are overweight people of all political affiliations, and feminists only represent a small percentage of them. He's not going to get many of their votes anyway, so pissing them off is really not a concern for him. He should be more mindful of not alienating the wider audience of voters who think childish behavior like that is not becoming of a candidate vying for the highest office in the nation.

Now, of course all of this is based on the premise that any of this matters, which in reality is not the case. If it did in fact matter, however, he'd be shooting himself in the foot by engaging in such behavior. A deserving candidate would ignore and rise above such pettiness and focus on the very real issues in this country that should be taking precedence right now...but he is not a deserving candidate. Neither of them are.

That's sexist and misogynistic in nature. What good is a beauty pageant if we can't accept every woman's size and shape regardless of health and eating habits?
Beauty pageants should not include restrictions that require a contestant to be attractive. Men need to learn that every woman is ideal regardless of her shape and size. And if they aren't attracted to every shape and size, they are part of this misogynist culture.

Ever come across written contracts or rules in life. They are specific and in writing for a reason - it spells out expectations behaviours and sanctions so both parties can adhere to them. You are under no compulsion to accept or sign. Once you have signed you are expected to uphold your end of the bargain. Women need to learn that whilst they are all "special" in the eyes of their loved ones - they cannot play this card in public to gain special status.

Men need to learn that every woman is ideal regardless of her shape and size.

IDEAL???? you can't be serious. There is a big difference in allowing others to live & let live, you can be as fat as you like in your universe, BUT you cannot force me to find you attractive. I'm not bucking my biological attraction or Darwinian imperative to want average weight kids. How about you cut back on some of that sugar if you're in the "mate hunting" sector.

Do you even know what the word misogynist means? Don't tar all men with the same brush...you make yourself look like a fool. It gets boring, playing the card like a Hitler/nazi slur. You set the womans movement back 100 years when with such bull*hit rhetoric
