UK Police Tweet for help on UFO: Hot, Invisible & Flying into the wind

I'm sceptical. I really don't think if this is a genuine ufo the NPAS would be tweeting about it. Alien emoji at the end of the tweet aswell?! Someone there just has a wicked sense of humour i think. When the last incident happened in 2008 the SWP & MOD were very tight lipped about it.

Ohhh my bad, for some reason I thought you were referring to St Athan.

It seems to me that a 'professional' should be able to analyze the original video and get at least a rough idea of the size of the object...
There are a couple moments where the camera zooms way back and you can see a bit of land in the background.

Also, the way the image has all those little markings around the edges - it seems as if maybe the camera is designed in a way that estimates of distance to whatever is being filmed could be made?

York and the Netherlands aren't near Bristol, unless I'm missing something.

Haha, my bad, I thought it was in the general region, possibly visible from a distance. I did not realize the distance was 220 miles. I apologize for the reflex response. It does seem like there is a lot of hot air ballooning in UK when I googled it, but yea, I lack specifics to support a worthy connection I guess.

Wow, how funny,, just a few days ago I came across an interview on youtube with George Knapp talking about the Bennewitz case and they mentioned "pancake shape UFOs flying vertically" (filmed by Ray Stanford) and it reminded me of the video with the tether incident as posted by ForteanOrg and now this police video and the pictures in the links from Orborus, they all fit together nicely I think.. cool synchronicity for me here

Hope they will show up in my neighboorhood too

Gonna say the The National Police Air Service would know a Lantern.
They also said they found it contradictory to a lantern as it flew against the wind.

For goodness sake people! Read the damn post and other information!
It was at night - hot air balloons are not permitted to fly at night without lighting and only with special permit
I think our police would know a bloody hot air balloon if they saw one!
The thing was invisible to the naked eye! So even if it was a HAB it would be visible if it had its lights and the burner would be visible
Its not a lantern...again it wasn't visible to the naked eye!

Honestly! Never mind actual research...sometimes even reading a paragraph is beyond some people!

Oh and I think our good old coppers are a bit more intelligent that they know a hot air balloon a lantern blah blah...they do like a bit of fun and have no qualms about tweeting weirdness...not everyone is completely paranoid
