Mostly Peaceful Protester Arrested for Killing During Charlotte Riots

Looks like Charlotte police have arrested somebody for the shooting of one man during the protests (not the police shooting that started the whole debate).

Many have speculated the man was shot by police.

Who knows anymore.

The authorities (as usual) don't seem to be on the same page with information.


Mostly Peaceful Protester Arrested for Killing During Charlotte Riots

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department officers on Friday morning arrested a Charlotte man accused of shooting and killing 26-year-old Justin Carr during protests in uptown on Wednesday night.

CMPD identified the arrested suspect as Rayquan Borum, 21. Police Chief Kerr Putney announced the arrest Friday during a press conference held by Charlotte government officials.

Borum has been charged with murder, police officials said in a news statement. He was taken into custody around 7 a.m., without incident, according to the statement.

Officials said Borum has been interviewed by homicide detectives. CMPD’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team made the arrest

Its hard to rally around people who act like idiots. I do my best to stay as far away from them as possible.

Wasn't the police. If it was there would have been a lot more shots fired.

I think the "speculation" that the protestor was shot by police was started by a couple eyewitnesses testifying that a police officer shot him in the head from point blank range (likely with a rubber bullet).

So, if you kill only one person in an evening the best description of your behavior is "mostly peaceful"?

Maybe I'm misreading something here.

I make a point of staying away from idiots and letting them get killed off either by the police or each other.

But if the police are sooo gun happy there and just wanna kill black men . . . why did they arrest this guy instead of shooting him?
