I just heard a clip Agsin of Hillary saying that radical Muslims are using trump's rhetoric To bolster their cause in the Middle East (and by extension in Europe and here in the US ).
Trump is at the worst case scenario saying that we should look in the direction of where these radical people are coming from, and stop them from coming. Then create a better vetting process, secure our borders, and provide benefits for US citizens and their families.
If this is the kind of rhetoric that is causing radical Muslims to stab people with knives, shoot people with guns, explode bombs in marketplaces, cut peoples heads off, and even eat hearts – then I'm afraid that this rhetoric is completely logical. Why would we want people in our country who are willing to blow us up if we don't let them in?
I have to admit that I could do without skittles if I knew one package out of 1000 contained poisonous skittles. And I would not take my chances even if the odds were better that I would enjoy skittles without dying- just knowing that some skittles explode when you eat them should make people leery about the company where they are coming from.

Nice circular argument. Really digging in the barrel though. Can't wait till the debates.

Self-preservation is one of the greatest circular arguments of all. I assume that you don't agree that it is a bad idea to fling open the borders and take in Hundreds of thousands of immigrants from the Middle East.

Oh... I didn't mean to get huffy. Even if you did think it was a good idea. It is frustrating to watch what is going on and not be able do anything about it. Or not be able to think of something to do about it. It seems that we are stymied at every angle.a reply to: intrptr

The rest of the world isn't fooled as much. They also are quite capable, once united.

The US is stretched really thin militarily, trying to control the whole world is an impossible task.

For Hillary, having pneumonia is just being a bit under the weather. You can simply take an aspirin and walk it off.

Not according to her Imperious Leader and former boss. Again he stated that Climate Change was the major cause of terrorism in the world.

A good portion of ISIS combatants were not living in Iraq or Syria so the analogy I guess would be more like finding a bonbon or some other completely different sweet amongst the skittles. Here's some food for thought also, how many American special forces were on the ground in Syria and for how long?

You can't beat some good ol' American pie.

Recently there was this whole fiasco of aid being shut down in Syria because a convoy was destroyed, people needing that aid hear about what happened and form opinions. It would not be lost on me how a Syrian could develop a little hate for the perpetrators behind the acts that mean his family won't eat or someone dies due to lack of medication.

The USA has had a huge hand in the Syrian conflict, now I'm not saying the US owes Syrians a home or wage but can you not fathom how having such a hard-line stance on "Muslims" whilst also having military assets in these nations many migrants and refugees come from could be perceived as imperialistic?

Trump's stance could easily be twisted by an ISIS recruiter and used as more evidence of the imperialist and globalist pigs.

That is certainly food for thought. But I have heard of a few solutions which involve refugees remaining near their countries of origin, while recieving direct aid. I am sorry for the other people in this world who are struggling, and I do want relief for their struggles- but don't bring strife here, for those of us not struggling. Let us export solutions and relief instead. You have illustrated a bigger picture, but I think there is a way to help those in need without sacrificing our freedom. But it is what it is. I guess I just wish the solution wasn't all wrapped up in scandal.a reply to: RAY1990

Idealism is always met with strife on the national and international level, even if a deal was struck with Turkey, Jordan and other countries refugees initially flee too there will always be those that scream we give too much aid.

In this world I keep seeing generalization being an issue, for instance. All refugees are Syrian, from our generalizations we also like to jump to extremes like all Syrian refugees are probably ISIS agents. Yet if you scrutinize the facts millions have fled Syria/Irag (the Levant) and ISIS numbers at most have only ever been about 140,000. Not to mention that ISIS is a self-recognized state and all people living under that state no longer have citizenship anywhere else in the world... It's a real cluster# of bureaucracy and a real potential problem for the future, my point being though... Recent terrorists have sworn allegiance to the state of ISIS but I'm sure not one of them have been citizens of the apparent state called ISIS nor did they flee the Levant during it's existence.

Don't get me wrong though, the ignorance goes both ways as always. The American Christian Aid programme has always been demonized by nations it's tried to help and in all honesty cultural barriers can be the biggest hurdle for two nations seeing eye-to-eye and learning to help each other, the world doesn't need more walls of ignorance but rather bridges of understanding. We are all just humans after all.

I just am baffled as to what these people are doing for 2 yrs while they wait and get vetted.

Think of it.

No school, no work, no nothing? Just waiting?

And if they are living somewhere, how well are they doing?

For the most part, they stand around waiting for food aid, or huddled at home trying to protect their food until it's time to go get more. The areas infrastructure has been bombed away by the US and Russia. There are no jobs to do. That's why so many turn to ISIS actually. If you join ISIS your family gets to live on base, you get a wage, and you're fed.

We always talk about needing to vet these people more, but our vetting process is already so long and so extreme that if someone acts as an informant for us and saves our troops lives, they'll typically go through a 5 year waiting process where at the end we deny them because they only could have been an informant in the first place if they had some sort of ties to terrorism.

So in other words, they are relatively safe and protected?

Why not start something right where they are?

Anyway, done derailing.
