A rioting mob shut down Interstate 85 -- attacking terrified motorists.

One female truck driver cried as she told a reporter that her cargo was being set on fire.

Looters pillaged and plundered a Walmart.

More than a dozen police officers were injured -- along with civilians and at least three reporters.

I have always wondered this. How does this help your cause or how does this help in the process of your protest....

The looting is performed by the same people that shoplift from their local Walmart on a regular basis (in my estimation). The "protest-riots" are just an excuse to do the same on a much, much larger scale and since the authorities are busy trying to keep the peace, they are probably correct in thinking they will get away with it.

Unfortunately, they are egged on by people such as one that was on CNN (or was it MSNBC or some other alphabet channel) that equated people destroying and burning down their own towns to "slaves burning down their plantations."

There is no thought given by the rioters to the people who are suddenly out of work because their workplace has been destroyed.

Your job is cancelled for the next few weeks because I, me, myself torched your building? Don't blame me.... blame "the man."

This is sad. Using a loss of life as an excuse to get free stuff. Thats all that life is equal to for some.

I saw a thread about the riot, but I'm asking a question with a link. Valid question...

The looting is an action against the "rules" society has supported, and rather than walk away with only sentiments delivered, they get a T.V. or Playstation, or some other coveted good. It is purely a "F the system", I will take what I want, or feel I deserve action. Some will hunt Cops and take lives, as they witness/perceive Cops hunt them and take lives from their community and/or race.

The burning of a vehicle is done because they know the MSM has helicopters and ground reporters who will automatically zoom in on the burning vehicle, testifying to the civil unrest as a result of perceived social injustice.

Those who are arrested for their civil disobedience feel like heroes. Those that loot feel satisfied in their score. Those that burn the streets want to be seen as dangerous. Those that kill Cops believe themselves righteous.

Their are two castes in this world, the haves and the have nots. Some have wealth but have not a heart. Some have a heart but have not wealth. Some have a heart and wealth. Some have not a heart or wealth. Truthfully we all have something and have not many things, but we do control what we accept as worthy of having and not having.

It doesn't help anything, is all about opportunism behind riots and protest, rest assure that cameras will make easy to go later and get the looters.

Without media porn.

It happen before.

first I would have to know some information on the rioters. do they live in this area, or did they travel there in hopes of stirring things up? and well, just what is their cause? it could be that most of the protesters were just making their voices heard and the destruction was done by only of portion of those one the street. and those doing the destructions main goal could very well be something other than seeking justice in the shooting.
if that is the case, then it is very well possible that their actions play a significant role in the "cause" they are working for.
after all if this kind of crap keeps up the gov't will be backed into a corner with very few options and we could see troops and national guard officers at every corner and end up having to go thru checkpoints a few times before we get to the nearest grocery store.

or.... maybe the people have just hit their breaking point and have gone completely nuts, who knows.

You're saying that when the folks of Ferguson liberated the vodka from their local liqueur store they were not making a political statement? That was just a case of getting away with free booze?

Honestly they are just taking advantage of the situation. Don't give them to much credit.

Maybe we are a third world country. If corrupt cops can gun down unarmed citizens with no repercussions, why not demonstrate by grabbing some free stuff? As long as you stand the chance of getting shot, may as well get shot trying to come up.

Actually developing countries around the world exercise their rights to protest more often that we in the US, is interesting that our nation applauds the protest when they are on those countries, but when they are here in our own soil the government goes after protesters like if they were enemies of the state.

The thing is that you don't get to see what the government does after the protest are done with, that is when they go after the people that were behind the protest.

looting of stores doesn't do anything for them except get free stuff. get them some 40's, some oxy, some new kicks. they are not interested in a cause, just what they can get for themselves.
just like the ones running around, drinking and partying, they could care less that one of the protesters was shot in the head by another and now on his deaths bed. just want to show their ass.

I dont remember this happening when I was a kid or the past 10 years. Only when Obama took office, if I'm wrong, correct me. Not at this magnitude.

They seemed to have lost all their support when they came out with their list of demands and reparations was one of the top ones.

Which kind of goes with why the rioters are doing what they are doing. They are getting their reparations that they think people owe them. That's how it advances their cause, Black Lives Matter's cause at least. Not to be mistake for the whole of the black Community.

I remember the Rodney King riots in 1992 very well! I lived in North Las Vegas at the time and the neighbor hood was lit up.
