Is there a taboo against discussing the meaning of short stories?

What not ask the persons in question what the stories/poems are about and let them explain them to you?

I don't think there is a taboo, you can ask away anything you want about anyones story, they may or may not answer you, but I don't think there would be many people who don't want to talk about their works.
I confess I unsubscribed from Short Stories forum about a month ago, it use to be my favorite forum, kept me company when on work flights, but it is no longer a short story forum....hard pressed to find one in there once a week!

If it goes back to short story focused, I will re-subscribe to the forum again.

I welcome anyone and everyone to comment or ask for clarification or even to critic any writing that I post.

Didn't realize there is such animosity towards others willingness to share their poems/stories/thoughts. Wow, just wow.

I knew there was a reason I liked you besides your ability to defeat crocodiles in single combat while chugging bucket-size beers.
