Since states control this aspect of Education, can you list by state witch liberal states have banned books compared to witch conservative states have banned books? I know its easier to paint with a broad brush, but its just not accurate.

It’s that time again – Banned Books Week – to consider the hundreds of books, some of them classics, that have been banned across the country at one time or another.

Libraries and bookstores are promoting the titles that have been yanked from reading lists, schools and library shelves because someone – typically a parent, often complaining about sexually explicit material, offensive language, violence or homosexuality – found them problematic.

“The Diary of Anne Frank,” “The Great Gatsby,” “To Kill a Mockingbird” and “Catcher in the Rye” have all been challenged for various reasons.

Christian conservatives win, children lose: Texas textbooks will teach public school students that the Founding Fathers based the Constitution on the Bible, and the American system of democracy was inspired by Moses.

On Friday the Republican-controlled Texas State Board of Education voted along party lines 10-5 to approve the biased and inaccurate textbooks. The vote signals a victory for Christian conservatives in Texas, and a disappointing defeat for historical accuracy and the education of innocent children.

The textbooks were written to align with instructional standards that the Board of Education approved back in 2010 with the explicit intention of forcing social studies teaching to adhere to a conservative Christian agenda. The standards require teachers to emphasize America’s so called “Christian heritage.”

In essence, Christian conservatives in Texas have successfully forced a false historical narrative into public school textbooks that portray Moses as an influence on the Constitution and the Old Testament as the root of democracy.

another one....

Griswold’s logic leads to convoluted case law surrounding public schools' ability to regulate and ban books in their libraries.

In a 1982 case called Board of Education, Island Trees Union Free School District v. Pico, a New York school district sought to remove a number of books from library shelves, including Kurt Vonnegut’s Slaughterhouse Five, Eldridge Cleaver’s Soul on Ice and a Langston Hughes-edited collection called Best Short Stories of Negro Writers.

According to the school board, the titles removed were “anti-American, anti-Christian, anti-[Semitic] and just plain filthy.”

correct me I am wrong, but isn't this the conservative's preferred description of liberals?

Another strawman thread from Ignoranceisntbliss where he talks condescendingly at liberals under a guise of trying to better understand them when in reality he is just trying to insult them.

So that's your argument about the content?

Why do you support the rise of totalitarianism?

Let's get back to how SJW's are running rampant on college campuses attacking Professors for proof reading their work, attendees who get barred physically from attending paid speeches on campus, censoring works of literature etc etc, you know stuff the Thread was created to discuss about.
Fine. How many college campuses are there in the country? How many are changing their curriculum for SJWs?

Instead of anecdotes, let's have some data.

The right ONLY deals in anecdotes. That's how they can keep their silliness alive.

Pretty much. All of IIB's threads go this way. He writes a long winded thread where he pretends to know how liberals speak, but in reality its just a bunch of negative, right wing stereotypes that he derived from some anecdotes that he is expanding to the whole liberal base. Then he acts indignant when I call him out for this when these threads are all just bait threads anyways. He doesn't care about our opinion. He just wants to talk down on us and insult our intelligence.

It was a simple analogy, you are avoiding the simple answer.

Mama always said, "Simple is as simple does."

As you run into college kids who spent all their time being self righteous Social Justice warriors instead of learning comprehension skills, keep that reply handy. If you act stupid maybe they will leave you alone.

When did college kids not act like this? Every generation finds some cause that they think they can have an impact on.

They were usually fighting "FOR" a right, not to take one away.
As a previous poster pointed out, totalitarianism fights to deprive people of rights, like these Social Justice Warriors are doing by wanting to put trigger warning micro aggression labels all over literature and public speaking events.

Show me in there where it says one of their goals is to place micro aggression labels all over literature or brand public speaking events as such? When you cannot find it, explain why these Social Justice Warriors are doing this while pretending to be Liberals? Maybe they are not pretending to be liberals but are liberals acting out on their core values? Where did they learn it from? Liberals, Communists, a combination of both?

You can be a Conservative Democrat and a Liberal Republican.

The words aren't synonymous with those parties....

To be blunt, it's reasonably possible Liberals don't give a # about Democrats.

New freedoms come from electing multiple parties, Liberals don't want consistent winners. Almost like anarchists.

Democrats on the other hand obviously want to win every time.

The flaw in connecting Liberal to Democrat, is Liberal people vote for all kinds of different parties and aren't stuck in the '2 party thought system' while Democrats just find it convenient to call themselves Liberal as they please.

The point is, being Liberal literally means 'open to new ideas, behaviors and opinions, and willing to discard traditional values', but Republicans constantly try to define this as it's later considering it against them, when the former is the heart of it's thought. If someone is a preconditioned Democrat, and they decide to vote Republican, that's a liberal move. Not that you ever hear that happen.(Yes, I understand statistically it does) But that's the point. If an edgy new Conservative comes out, but has great improvement plans for schools or something, a Liberal is still inclined to vote for that person potentially while a Democrat is not.

The passive connections between the Liberal school of thought and the Democrats Agenda is just more foul play by the Democrats. There isn't even a Liberal Agenda, that term is bunk, because Liberals do not organize well. It's a general consensus at best. This is not to be mistaken again with the organization and planning power the Democrats have.

What probably grieved the most differences at the start were campaigns to encourage people to vote. The Democrats did some of that a long ass time ago and Liberals got behind it heavy and they've been considered the exact same thing at Liberals expense ever since.

I just looked up the "trigger warning micro aggression labels " to see just what in hades name yous were talking about.... you're having a fit, accusing liberals of being totalitarian, over a flipping warning label...
contents might be hot...
smoking by pregnant women may cause fetal injury....
turn off lawn mower before sticking hand underneath to clear off blade...

and now, this lecture, this book has pornographic, racist, sexist, whatever comments...

and from this we are going to burning books (wonder just how many copies of harry potter novels have been burned), and losing our free speech.

and still no sign of the warning label I want... ya know the one that should be posted at the doorway of every catholic affiliated hospital that says it's a catholic affiliated hospital and therefore will place it's religious doctrines above a women's health and lay out exactly what conditions that this may happen....
