They were only removed from the list and given 4 stars after being pressured.
The foundation was requested to provide financial information in a format compatible with Charity Navigator's system. They did so. This enabled Charity Navigator to evaluate the foundation.

It's good that the IRS investigates, don't you think? Apparently Clinton's opponent is also under "investigation." Isn't that his excuse for not releasing his tax returns?

If it were any other administration I would agree the investigation is a good thing. Personally speaking I dont think there are enough investigations into government officials. With that said the way this administration has lied / obfuscated / stonewalled I would question any investigation results, especially into the Clintons.

The CN was not going to remove them from the list and stated the business model the CF uses could not be judged by the established criteria. The business model has not changed yet they removed them from the watch list and gave them 4 stars... This after CN stated they were pressured to relist the CF.

Here, let's keep this simple.

The LIE is to take the 6% figure for "charitable grants" (i.e. giving money to OTHER charities) and to IGNORE the whole number of 85%+ that goes toward their OWN CHARITABLE PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES.

That is all in their Annual Reports and financial statements. An IRS investigation may or may not reveal anything, and speaking of pressure, the Republican Congress has pressured the IRS to perform said investigation. It is in regards to what is perceived as potential "pay to play" issues, not in regard to their charitable activities.

If people want to really "Deny Ignorance" and understand what the Clinton Foundation is and is not, from an unbiased source, then here are links to articles on the "Inside Philanthropy" website. It is a very balanced look, both positive and negative, regarding the Foundation in all its complexity, something that our MSM and Alternative media alike are getting wrong... LINK

Hit Job: A Closer Look at the WSJ's Clueless Attack on the Clinton Foundation

What The Heck Does The Clinton Foundation Actually DO?

There are other articles on the site regarding the Clinton Foundation.

This one is interesting. It's about the "Clinton Family Foundation" (a different entity) which is parallel to, say, Trump's Trump Family Foundation...
The Other Clinton Foundation: A Look at Bill and Hillary's Personal Philanthropy

First, the big picture: Between 2007 and 2014, Bill and Hillary Clinton earned a combined total of $141 million. On that income, they paid $43.9 million in taxes, and gave just under $15 million to charity, or 10.8 percent of their total income for that period.

By comparison, an Urban Institute study found that wealthy households with incomes between $5 million and $10 million gave an average of 3.7 percent of their adjusted gross income in 2011. Meanwhile, other studies have found that Americans overall give around 3 percent of the income to charity.

By these numbers, the Clintons are roughly three times more generous than most rich people and ordinary Americans alike. That makes sense, given that they devoted decades of their lives to public service long before they ever made any real money.

Where does their personal charitable giving go?

Digging into the Clinton Family Foundation's 2014 tax return reveals that they did around $3.8 million in grantmaking and held some $5.3 million in assets. Of total grantmaking in 2014, $1.8 million went to the Clinton Foundation, just under half of total giving.

However, in 2013, the Clintons gave $1.8 million through their personal foundation, with only around a fifth of that money going to the Clinton Foundation, around the same share as in 2012.

So where have all the other gifts gone? To lots of different places, is the short answer. In 2014, the Clintons gave money to 70 nonprofits through their foundation. The picture looked similar the year before, with many grants falling in the range of $5,000 to $25,000.

In many ways, this couple's giving tracks with that of a lot of wealthy people we look at, with money reflecting personal interests, professional relationships and past experiences.

(They even have articles about Donald Trump. Seems Eric is the real giver of the family... anyway... Link )

Hillary is the one who decided to use a private server while at the same time using her position as secstate for the benefit Clinton Foundation.

The reason its an issue is she got caught lying and it blew up in her face. The reason its still an issue is because the investigation was stonewalled by Clinton and her cronies.

What about her Foundations? There are questions, sure, but did you even look at what they really do? Both the Clinton Foundation and the Clinton Family Foundation? How they give 3x as much as the average wealthy family in their class?

Nothing???

There are articles on the potential "pay to play" - nothing stands out as being real or damning as of yet, in spite of the hand-wringing. There may yet be a ruling of impropriety, but there hasn't been one yet.

Try this article re: Pay-to-Play: Once again, the Media Gets It Wrong on the Clinton Foundation

If you are really interested in how the Clinton Foundation has operated to enrich the Clintons you really should read "Clinton Cash" by Peter Schweizer.

Peter Franz Schweizer (November 24, 1964) is an American author and political consultant. He is the president of the Government Accountability Institute (GAI) and a former William J. Casey Research Fellow at Stanford University's Hoover Institution. He is also Breitbart News Senior Editor-at-Large en.wikipedia.org...

Media should be cautious with Republican activist and strategist Peter Schweizer's new book Clinton Cash. Schweizer has a disreputable history of reporting marked by errors and retractions, with numerous reporters excoriating him for facts that "do not check out," sources that "do not exist," and a basic failure to practice "Journalism 101." mediamatters.org...

Didn't read the whole thing cause hella boring and no facts and statistics of substance. 6% on charitable donations?
A) it's a huge foundation
B) how much money they give to other charities is nothing compared to the charitable contributions the foundation makes by itself
C) poor bill Clinton he was just looking for something to do after being president. No one gave a sh*t about the foundation until Hillary Clinton was the democratic nominee for president

I refer you to one of the first comments. Why aren't they in jail? Because this is America. You have laws, courts and historical precedence for this kinda stuff. This isn't the Middle East, you don't encourage the inprisonment of someone who disagrees with you politically. Like wanting Bush to go to jail for war crimes was just as equally stupid. That republicans are calling for her to be placed in prison is a huge shift of American politics from civility to savagery. Obama isn't even mad when he has to talk about trump, he's just bemused by all of it

How these people are not in prison befuddles the imagination.

Maybe I can help answer that...

TheFederalist is a right wing propaganda site...

The Clinton Foundation spends 88% of donations on programs and has an "A" rating from Charity Watch...an org dedicated to reviewing charity finances and rating them.

The Trump Foundation by contrast hasn't even opened up it's books, but is under investigation for Fraud and Corruption with several criminal and civil complaints filed with some pretty damning evidence.

FACT CHECK HAS ALREADY DEBUNKED THESE LIES..

“There is an important distinction between an operating foundation vs. a non-operating foundation,”

“An operating foundation implements programs

so money it raises is not designed to be used exclusively for grant-making purposes.

www.factcheck.org...

Now explain to me where that life size painting of Trump the Trump Foundation bought ended up..or the Tim Tibow Helmet?...Or the pay-off to the FL AG from the Trump Foundation...Or the five other charities his foundation tax return said got money that didn't?...The man is headed to jail...For REAL.
