I see there are quite a few people who have checked in here that like myself, have been trained in multiple career fields, after all my years in the work force, this is something that I realize is very important. The things you learn give you the ability to fix your own cars, house and other objects. It becomes very important to have a certain amount of knowledge to have the ability to maintain a certain degree of self reliance. Good on all of us who have learned to do many different things. Education is a life long process.

I kind of fit the stereotype of a X gen.er - I have skipped around changing careers, often under valued and under paid. More interested in trying new things than becoming successful by anyone elses standards.

I have been a cosmetologist, a secretary, a business owner, an english teacher, horse trainer, a gas station manager, a cook, a receptionist and now going into import/export.

My NASA work was pre-Challenger, so it's been 30 years or so. Name doesn't ring a bell though.

Amen, buddy - Belize is pretty nice! (I understand you have to go to Mexico for Walmart)

Costa Rica & Panama seem like they have some of the best health care programs, but that could just be marketing.
I'm liking Peru, Colombia & Bolivia for the economic advantages.
But Ecuador - there's just something about a country that uses the US dollar, thumbs its nose at TPTB & gives Assange asylum.
Come to think of it Bolivia thumbed its nose at us over the Drug War, too.

Hmm...

I do a few things now days. I do ride-sharing (Uber, etc), I design websites when I have the patience for clients, and I just recently went on hiatus from being a professional Tarot reader.

What's funny is that I have several certificates in things that have little to do with my occupations. A++, Microsoft, Apple, etc. And... I get zero joy from working on computers. Should have stuck with my teaching major. Heh.

ps edit - I also own a wellness/alternative health directory but I consider that more of a passion until I monetize it.

Current job: i run hospitality units (hotels, restaurants, bars, catering businesses, etc, etc). At the moment my job title is "Controller".

I started my professional career when I applied in a call center. I worked my way up over 10 years, spending time managing the training, operations, and workforce management departments before becoming the site director. It was a moderate sized site, maybe 400 seats. But it provided me the foundation for what I do now.
