In a Basket of Deplorables

Nobody is making "guilt by association" but you, as you're the one identifying with the "deplorable" 50%, and are offended with your own perception of yourself.

Ha! I am in no way ashamed of myself.

I am pointing out the shameful behavior of some of my fellow Americans though who are only too happy to grab onto comments like Hillary's and use them to make insinuations.

It's like saying "with all due respect" which we all know is never meant with any respect at all.

See half of his supporters are deplorable and half are not. But there is no way to know which half is which, so it's easy to insinuate whatever you want when you talk about them and then pivot and say, but not that I was referring you ... which is just like saying "with all due respect."

Nope. Not in the Basket that Hillary defined, it isn't.

You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump's supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right? The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic -- you name it. And unfortunately there are people like that.

If there is something else that you feel falls into the Deplorable category, by all means, you're free to name it, but if you find yourself among those "stereotypes" listed, go ahead and "own it".

I like deplorable better than alt-right.

I find it amusing. It must be frustrating to coin such a wonderful term and to have it blown right back into the faces of those who embrace it.

I'll believe that she has lost the day someone else take the Oval Office. At this point, I almost don't care who that person is ... almost.

I'm neither a Hillary nor a Trump supporter but today I suddenly realized that I was in close association with a whole mess of deplorables. Even if just half of them are deplorable, my goodness, I've fallen in with the wrong crowd.
Some of them may have come to their decision grudgingly but have made the decision to do what they can to keep Hillary out of office.
Those of us who have pined for a libertarian with executive experience finally have the opportunity to vote for someone who doesn't need a 100 mule-team to carry his baggage. With Johnson and Weld we have at least a chance of having an administration that is less corrupt than the last one or the present one.
Johnson has proved that he doesn't have the ego of these two megalomaniacs. His handling of the Aleppo gaffe proved that he is willing to tell the truth, not dance around the question until time runs out. My respect for him went up when I saw how he handled that and the badgering that he suffered on msm. He just doesn't strike me as a guy who wants to rule the world. That's the vast difference I see between him and the other two.

But I understand your angst because I find myself amazed that I must know and like so many horrid folks. They've certainly been very talented at hiding their various ---isms.

Trump is a fountain of insults towards groups and individuals and all his supporters eat it up and love him for it. They defend every insult by saying what a straight shooter he is, how honest he is and how he tells it like it is.

But Hillary insults an unspecified segment of Trump Supporters with "Deplorable" and they all act like someone has stolen their birthdays.

Seriously, enough with the pity party guys. I'm not sure who you're expecting to feel sorry for you other than yourselves. I thought you all liked Politically Incorrect Honesty and People Who Tell It Like It Is.

Half of what is being attributed to Trump is false. Trump doesn't care about the conservative social agenda, he's just pretending. I don't believe he cares about gay marriage or abortion. He's a fiscal conservative who finally figured out how to play the game. He's actually a social liberal and a fiscal conservative. Exactly the candidate I've been waiting for.

Identifying a group as less than human then having their rich high profile true believers openly state they understand there is to be a cleansing? Genocidal maniacs spelling it out for you A B C and you still don't get it?
