Because if they could charge you, they would have already. The only thing questioning does, is give them something to charge you with. Whether that's tripping you up and making it look like you committed perjury, or finding some law you violated.

But if they have immunity they have agreed to testify? What does congress get out of giving immunity if they plead the 5th? Unless congress is protecting their own, possibly.

They don't go to jail as they have immunity. They plead the 5th so nobody gets in trouble. Now they can go along their merry way destroying democracy around the world.

This hearing was directed at a administrative sciences aspect of the Clinton e-mail server issue and was not ever intended to subject Pagliano to prosecution. Utah Representative and Committee chair Jason Chaffetz, I believe waned to establish Clinton Motives from an administrative burden of proof. It was two parts of the crime he had to prove one the INTENT and two the ACT respective mens reas and actuts reus. So, he searched for the intent and found the Denver based IT firm could supply his case against Clinton for motive.
Further the whole week the hearings took place numerous allegations of the Clinton Foundation payments to James Comey emerged. So the taste we are left with is COMEY could tell us all she was wrong but not being charged and blatantly stated she was irresponsible but no intent was proved of her act or the crime that violated her security clearance.
I imagine by no stretch of the imagination is this ended. Next week or the following, all the failings the IT asset who failed to show and the hearing's intent to prove intent will just simply be directed at the SIGNATURE on her security clearance and they will work with Director of national intelligence the DNI to prevent Clinton from accessing data for breach on the executive branch side of the facts.
