I think i would have respected him if he had said this.

That's exactly how I interpreted his speech! Blah, blah, blah, freedom, blah, blah, blah, liberty... Would have been far better if he actually said what he meant instead of talking in circles, it could have been over and done with in 5 minutes and my soap wouldn't have been pre-empted!
