“When [Abe] said the situation was under control, he was lying,” Koizumi told reporters in Tokyo. “It is not under control,” he added, noting the problems the plant’s operator, Tokyo Electric Power (Tepco), has experienced with a costly subterraneanice wall that is supposed to prevent groundwater from flowing into the basements of the damaged reactors, where it becomes highly contaminated.

I don't know of anyone who is following the situation at Fukushima Daiichi closely who would say it's under control. Who could possibly believe that?

TEPCO has admitted that new technology has to be invented to solve all the problems. In a lot of ways, there has been no significant progress made.

Is there any doubt Abe lied about Fukushima?

He's in Government, so no, there's absolutely no doubt he lied about that, or anything else for that matter

Does anyone believe it's under control
One more wave and it all gets washed into the ocean, then a big bang

It can't, won't ever be controlled, there is nothing else

A little further on rain water contaminating the site. This doesn't address the 'wall' but discusses the problems associated with rain runoff and sever weather.

truth-out

Contamination in the basements can overflow during rains, especially during severe weather, running off overland to the sea. It is also impossible to build a wall underneath the cores, just around them. So any contamination that emits into the air, overflows and runs off on the surface, or sinks below the melted cores into groundwater is not stopped by this 'ice wall'. They keep it in the forefront though to distract attention away from the ongoing release of radioactive contamination.

Kind of like keeping our heads buried in the rubble of 911 or Hillary's server.

anyone that's spent a little time going over the facts would.
an anti nuclear campaigner is hardly impartial, notice he didn't have any evidence?

They don't need evidence.

The official position from TEPCO is that the "cleanup" is out of control.

The man leading the daunting task of dealing with the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear plant warns with surprising candor: Nothing can be promised.

....

New science will have to be invented for the plant to be cleaned up. Each step of the way, safety and consequences must be weighed, for workers and for the environment alike, Masuda added.
No promises in Fukushima cleanup, director says

As to the significance of the problems related to the radiation at Fukushima Daiichi, the issue is beyond debate.

TEPCO is worried about possible nuclear terrorism
