A Worm is a pretty good description for Obama. He has wormed his way into every aspect of our lives, or intruded upon it just like a worm would. MAYBE he IS Wormwood.

Maybe they were going after the fact that Obama is somewhat of a "new species" himself, only one of the Politician genus

The blood fluke Baracktrema obamai, which represents both a new genus and species of parasitic flatworm.

Baracktrema obamai, that's hilarious. Thanks for sharing this, it was nice little morning chuckle I needed. It's not even 9:30 AM here and I already made 2 people cry today

There's also a species of darter fish named after Obama: Etheostoma obama.

First we have an asteroid, I think, named after Freddie Mercury. A cool thing.

Now a flatworm, a parasite named after a sitting POTUS. Interesting.
This is kinda bizarre and maybe the reason he got named.
This parasite kills carbon dioxide! Right up the POTUS alley!

The scientists found clusters of tens to hundreds of fluke eggs in the turtles’ lung alveoli, the tiny sacs where blood receives oxygen and gets rid of carbon dioxide.
