I was listening to Coast to Coast when the first calls about shadow people came in on an open call line. That blew up fast.

I remember the same fervor for avian bird flu as well.

Good point. I forgot about that but I do remember Ebola-steria.

Wasn't it meant to have spread with 100's of thousands contracting the disease within a couple of months from when the outbreak occurred?

What a crazy fortnight that was.

Ah, the good old Mandela Effect threads.

In someone's timeline the Mandela effect doesn't exist. Well, it doesn't exist, but you know what I mean.

The O'Hare airport UFO.

Still bothers me that an unidentified aircraft could hover over one of the busiest airports in the world for how many minutes, post-9/11, without any kind of security force response.

There was nothing to see there. Please return to your reality T.V programmes and continue living in servitude.

I was only a lurker when that thread came about, but it did entice me to become a member, along with other events.

ATS needs to get back to the fun stuff...UFOs, USOs.

SkyFloating"s USO thread is a winner.

I can't see those two words together without visualising a gore pic. Boston bombings.

Someone posted an extremely graphic and deeply disturbing image that seared itself into my memory. I'd like to know what became of the victim without running the risk of seeing the picture again.

You're right about the real-time threads. Someone in the future will find historical gold in the comments of blogs and message boards. It's all trivia and BS today and will become legitimate research material for historians, psychologists, cultural analysts etc.

It was the STS NASA threads that I get nostalgia for. Massive threads with loads of participants and clearly defined sides.
