It depends how much stress they are under, certainly ptsd is a factor watching a very old man have his throat slit in front of you possibly in front of your kids etc.

The man in question did not see the priest get murdered, he is part of a unrecognized fringe religious wacko group.

Not condoning it but using the video for propaganda is far worse than the actual act. It actually seems much more violent to do that.

Which is probably part of the reason the Catholic Church does not recognize these dimbulbs.

If you know that for sure then it is twice as gross.

I dont think though that being in a fringe group means he wasnt at the service. Some people seek these fringe groups out after things like this.

Fringe groups and extremists recruit people who have been through trauma and exploit it.

Of coarse this guy could simply be an asshat.

Agreed 100%. But we are debating provocation or lack therof. Which is an entirely different subject.

Understood and from the video there is no clear or discernable provocation.

Well I'll concede that there is no proof supporting (or denying) provocation. From what we can see, there is a guy on the ground who is looking off-screen and seemingly getting increasingly frustrated by something. Then we see a man walk into the picture and immediately get violently assaulted. I don't think the video shows the full story (which is something we have forgotten in this digital age-- that just because we can't see it and there is no video proof, it never happened.)

Anyways, I have nothing good to say about the offender, so I will stop commenting on him entirely. What I will say is that there might be more to the story than the footage records.

To free speech!

I can honestly for sure that I do not know but he is indeed part of a fringe group not recognized by the Catholic Church from what I read earlier.

he is most certainly that.

So where were all you bleeding hearts when the priest was being beheaded?

I've been busy for the last couple hours. Do you have a link to the beheading report?

I will respectfully disagree. There is nothing that I see that can justify this man's behavior.

Even if the other guy was cranking Hail to Satan off to the side there is still no justification.

Catholicism.... The Religion of Peace.

Yeah I didn't see the guy do a lot wrong, didn't identify him as a Muslim either from the video.
The whole "Templar Knight" logo thing at the end creeped me out... looks kind of like some propaganda BS from some militant Nationalist site....

Brutal shot.

It looks as though the catholic man was looking in that general direction previous to the violence, maybe at the victim off camera, but there appears to be no visible nor audible provocation from the victim. Even if the music was too loud, that is no reason for violent reaction.

Let me know when a rat violently assaults another rat over religion.

Threads like this are proof that ATS has gone to the dogs.

I struggle to believe what I've read for these 18 pages.

I'd like to reverse the situation!

Group of Muslims praying and then a Christian walks up behind them and does, well I don't know, nothing according to the footage...
And then a Muslim jumps up sucker punches him and keeps wayleighing him close to brain damage...

Would all of your reactions be the same?

It's doubtful isn't it.

I'd shake on that.. only.. one more niggling comment before I go.. do you think that Westboro fools were provoking the families of the slain, or not?

Again, we're not taling justification.. only provocation, which, well I know you understand.

Absolutely. I think they would like nothing more that to have someone punch them, or worse, so they can claim to be martyrs.
